The Last Western You Watched?

I liked the way Crowe’s gun was “cursed”, it looked pretty cool too with the crucifix on the grip, was this in the original 1957 movie?

There was nothing special about the pistols Glenn Ford had in the original “3:10 to Yuma”. He only had them until he was captured in the saloon and after that you never saw them again.

I just saw Gunfight at the OK Corral. Pretty good, if a bit slow at times. Kirk Douglas was amazing as Doc Holiday. Didn’t care too much for the music though. SW music is so much better. I’d give this a solid 7 out of 10.

Rewatched “The Mercenary”. It’s one of those movies i can never get tired of, no matter how many times i watch them i still love them

Saw Anda Muchacho Spara aka Dead Men Ride last night. Nice movie with a Nicolai-soundtrack which sounded like a ‘Best of Morricone’-soundtrack but wasn’t quite that. Nice to see Fabio Testi in another spaghetti western. The thing his character did with his glove reminded me of the character Robert Hossein played in Cemetery Without Crosses where he also had his thing with his one black glove. Recommended. And hey there’s boobs ;D

No, seriously: this is very good film, almost qualifies for top20 for me.

Got this one in the mail not too long ago so I should be checking it out soon…

Just viewed MASSACRE AT GRAND CANYON.

O.K western to watch, but feels a bit American in style at times, but then again this is an early western in the Spaghetti cycle.

I thought it was absolutely dreadful when I watched it. VERY American (and I mean that in a bad way here). Nearly unwatchable. Not much pasta in that one.

I may have been a bit to polite here, but I know exactly what you mean.

Nando Cicero: Professionals for the Massacrehttp://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Professionisti_per_un_massacro (dvd-r)
-Good, entertaining film in style of some early Castellari films (Any gun can play, Kill them all and come back alone), great cast and decent music.

Just viewed HATE FOR HATE with ANTONIO SABATO and JOHN IRELAND.

Nice story, one that keeps you watching.
Good photograhpy, music and a decent performance from IRELAND.

I also liked the gunplay in this one.

“Crossfire Trail” (2001)
-Tom Selleck

Tom Selleck stars as Rafe Covington who has made a promise to a dying friend to look after his ranch and his wife (Virginia Madsen) after he is gone. Along with his two pals (David O’Hara, Christian Kane), Covington sets up shop on said ranch. Joining the trio is crusty old Wilford Brimley (barely recognizable) as a former ranch hand. Unfortunately, villain Mark Harmon also has designs on the aforementioned ranch and widow. When Selleck proves to be a formidable opponent, Harmon brings in gunfighter Brad Johnson to settle things which of course, leads to the inevitable showdown

very well made cable TV movie. Nice action, acting and scenery.

Just viewed Taste of Vengeance.

Good to see John Garko in a non Sartana role.

Watched For a Few Dollars More with a friend yesterdaynight. He liked it alot although he said he hated westerns two days earlier.

I also watched a Fistful of Lead but didn´t like it very much(6/10)

I wanted to watch JOHNNY YUMA, but it was a sunday, late at night, and I had had a few glasses of wine.
I felt too tired to watch this movie, so I chose another one from the 3DVD/9FILMS box from ST. Clair Vision: “Si, puo fare, amigo / Can be done, amigo”; the reason for the change: I didn’t expect much of it, so it wasn’t that important that I was a bit sleepy.
The film was not as bad as I thought it would be, still it wasn’t great.
And I couldn’t keep my eyes open after one hour, so I have to finish it tonight …

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.
I know it’s considered classic, but i found it a little bit boring. However it was nice to see younger Lee Van Cleef and Woody Strode.
I also had an impression that qoute from this movie [“You can’t shoot them with your books” or something like that] might have inspired “Black Killer” :stuck_out_tongue:

Saw Gli Specialisti last night. The only Corbucci-western I hadn’t watched yet. Didn’t expect much had heard that it wasn’t that good a movie, but do you know what, I found it was actually a very nice and well-played feature. The story we’ve heard before, Johnny Hallyday plays a gunslinger who returns home to avenge his murdered brother who have been accused of stealing the banks gold and subsequently killed.

I can see why some people after having watched Corbucci-biggies like Companeros or The Mercenary :stuck_out_tongue: will feel somewhat let down by being presented with a movie which is no way in the same league as these but all in all this is an above average spaghetti western and definitely better than the last Corbucci I watched: What Am I Doing In the Middle of the Revolution?. Recommended.

Death rides a horse, finally i watched and loved it. more in its thread.
