Return of Ringo
Great movie, more story driven than the first one, but still hillarious. A little bit better than “A pistol for Ringo” i think.
I hadn’t seen Minnesota Clay for a long time and watched it again today, A good solid western but you expect more coming from Corbucci.
Re-saw Cemetery Without Crosses this evening/night. A great spaghetti western with a fantastic minimal amount of dialogue. Robert Hossein plays great as the gunslinger who every time he senses trouble puts on his single black glove preparing to shoot… A nice dark spaghetti western.

-Strange Finnish semi-western. It’s set in 1950’s and it’s not clear is it supposed to be in America, Lapland or what but otherwise it has clear western elements: western town, saloon fights, poker game, hanging scene etc. Not a good film but funny and some scenes were well done.
“Shane”
A true classic
The Grand Duel
Very good. A really cool Lee van Cleef + a hippy bandit and a white-wearing gay villain ;D
Modify:
The second western today:
Four of the Apocalypse
It’s great! Absolutely strange, unique. I liked the story.
Jack Sparrow can buy his coffin. Chaco eats him for breakfast! ;D ;D ;D Milian is the Man, the Actor…
Finally got around to Companeros and was not disappointed. An excellent film with great performances from Milian and Nero. Plus a great theme song…
Vamos a matar Vamos a Matar… Companeros!
I love it!
Sabata - 10/10
One word.
BANJO!!! ;D

Good to hear that you finally checked it out. It’s great, isn’t it?!
One of the best and well worth waiting for. I really don’t understand why this film has not had a UK DVD release.
It did get issued in VHS days here in the UK, but it was not the restored version.
Yeah, no UK DVD. I suppose the thinking is that Blue Underground release all of their discs region-free so they can be easily exported to the UK but, of course, they’re still NTSC. Weird. Course, there are plenty of SWs that have been released in the UK that don’t have a US release, as well…

It’s a good one. Have you checked out Adios, Sabata (aka Indio Black) yet? That’s my favorite of the three (although, it’s really a Sabata film in name only…)
Yes , Adios Sabata is my fav of the three aswell, and one of the composers best western scores.
Yeah, it’s a great movie. For some reason, when I bought the Sabata trilogy set, Adios Sabata was the one that I was least interested in. I suppose I thought to myself, “Well, it doesn’t have Lee Van Cleef in it, what’s the point?” But, I finally checked it out and LOVED it. Once I stopped thinking of it as really part of the Sabata series, I really got into it…
Exactly.
Which do you reckon had the biggest budget out of the three?
No idea. Actually, it’s been a while since I’ve seen Sabata and Return of Sabata. All I can think of at the moment is Adios Sabata. I’ll re-watch the others and get back to you…
Today’s film:
“Hondo”
One of John Wayne’s best movies, Great book, great film.
Watched Django the Last Killer yesterday. Not a bad film, just a little slow in places.
The Hunting Party.
It seems it’s being remebered mostly because of its violence. Sure it’s one of the most violent SWs [according to mr.Brückner it’s uk/spanish/italian co-production, so if he’s right it’s a spag], but it also had nice plot, decent Riz Ortolani music and lots of familar Almeria locations. I also heard this movie is supposed to be Veitman war metaphore. Interesting. I think it’s a very good movie, not to be missed
