The Last Western You Watched?

“The Train Robbers”
-John Wayne, Ann-Margaret

Five gunhands led by a man named Lane are hired by a widow, Mrs. Lowe, to find gold stolen by her husband so that she may return it and start fresh.

While not one of Wayne’s classics, this is a fun “popcorn” movie. Good action and plot and Ann Margaret is drop dead gorgeous.

Watched Hang 'em High last night…

Dennis Hopper didn’t last long!!! I guess I didn’t realize he was actually in it the last time I watched.

Watched ‘It Can be Done Amigo’ for the first time. And probably the last. A ‘comedy’ and very sentimental. A big waste of Jack Palance too and Bud Spencer just hitting people on top of the head. Not the worst I’ve seen but really not very good at all.

Watched “God forgives… i don’t” for the 3rd time ;D
Can anybody tell me where can i get the fully uncut version with that (un)famous rape scene?

Germany.
The uncut version is called Jewel Edition, with german and italian audio.

The Outlaw Josey Wales…I’m on a Clint kick right now I guess.

Beguiled
-Siegel/Eastwood film set during the civil war. Exciting western thriller and a pleasant surprise for me since I haven’t even heard about this before.

Is there any edition that’s uncut and has got english audio or subs?

I watched Guns for San Sebastian, which was on TCM a couple of days ago. Anthony Quinn is great. He really raised this movie to a higher level. Otherwse it probably would have been a tad mediocre. Also watched Roy Colt & Winchester Jack. Well, it’s a comedy but it’s rarely funny. Besides that, I found Roy and Jack a couple of immature wankers. Overall a pretty lame movie, but it’s watchable. At least it didn’t bore me or anything.

Just finished watching Mr. Bronson in BREAKHEART PASS, with a nice main theme by composer JERRY GOLDSMITH.

I came, i saw, i shot.
Good cast, but it looks like the makers couldn’t make up their mind if they would like to make a lighthearted variation of the ‘good bad ugly’ plot or slapstick comedy. I didn’t expect too much before watching and it was better i thought it would be after all.

Started watching the outlaw josey wales by and with Clint Eastwood! stopped it because I was tired and it is quite long.
but before sleeping zapped around and saw the dreamers by bertolucci. Had some heavy nudity of Eva green so I sticked to it for a while before sleeping. Anybody seen that one.
Finished Josey Wales right now. lot of story in it and many characters, all well played i think. The war theme is good and the relation with indians also. And the revenge thing is always easy to relate to.
Again clint is way too cool: “I heard there are three suns in kansas: sunshine, sunflowers and sons of bitches” ;D
But I still expect some more of pale rider and unforgiven which i purchased with this one.
yeahh and the blue setting for the picture in the beginning was kind of annoying.

He spits a mean wad of tobacco too…I had to laugh when he nailed that dog… ;D

Watched The Texican last night. Don’t know what to think of the ‘hero’ Audie Murphy. Not the typical western hero, very frail looking, every minute waiting for him to be blown off his horse by a strong breeze. The main ‘villian’ Broderick Crawford wasn’t anything to write home about either. Sounded as if thought he played a part in a 50’s gangster/crime movie. The story was OK though and there was a couple of spaghetti regulars, namely Aldo Sanbrell and Frank Braña and the music was OK.

Watched Requiem for a gringo aka. Duel in the eclipse.
It’s one of the strangest spags out there. It’s kinda boring in the begining, but the second half of the movie is great and crazy. We got sequence resembling “Death sentence” where the main character kills gang memebers one after another (told in series of flashbacks), the scene with crazy zoom using and of course ‘duel in the eclipse’. It’s all told in the quasi - supernatural manner similar to “django the bastard”. Definitely recommended.
He spits a mean wad of tobacco too…I had to laugh when he nailed that dog… ;D
yes the spitting was great. my favourite one was when the old lady(called grannie) cleans the farm and he is about to spit on the floor. she gives him a mean look and he swallows. funny. how did you like the movie and the playing around with the colour filters?

I enjoyed the movie quite a bit…outside of the Leone flicks it’s probably in my top 3 Clint westerns (the other two being Unforgiven and High Plains Drifter). The classic revenge-type storyline but what the hell…what’s a western without it!!!

Chief Dan George has some classic lines…nice humour without being too goofy, in my opinion.

I WANT HIM DEAD has been viewed, which I really enjoyed.

The film knows where it is going and stays there, and does not chicken out !

The music is great.

Why go on killing?
Average movie. One of the themes is overplayed so many times that it almost made my ears bleed :stuck_out_tongue:
