[quote=“Bad Lieutenant, post:4355, topic:141”]What a difference with that crappy American disc…

Where do you got this one from?
Mine is only in 1,78:1 and the picture quality is much worser.

If you’re on cinemageddon you can get it there… Apparently a tvrip from TCM.
Finally watched Ognuno per se.
Really a great one!
Fandub Of Killer Calibre 32. And now just in the middle of a fandub of Garringo.
Kill the Wickeds (Dio non paga il sabato / Tanio Boccia - 1968)
A surprinsingly good low-budget spaghetti with influences of horror
Slow-moving, sometimes harmed by the low budget, but atmospheric, very violent, and with a few catfights and a lovely theme song
They say it was remade as Matalo! (too long ago since I watched that movie, so I’ll have to rewatch that one first before I write a review of Kill the Wickeds)
Here’s the trailer:
Killer Kid fandub.
Lots of action but simple story for me. Loads of big mexican hats but Steffen has a small one of course :D.
“boot hill” not the worst i have seen but in the bottom 10. instantly forgettable
Day of the Evil Gun
Small, good western
Mutiny at Fort Sharp aka Per un dollaro di gloria. You instantly know that it’s gonna be a hard spaghetti ride when you’ve got indians in the movie and this one has them aplenty.
Plot was ok and the execution was fine but not much spaghetti in this one. Even the score by Carlo Savina sounds ‘non-Spaghetti’. Only recommended for people not expecting spaghetti.
Rewatched Cemetary without Crosses. Things improved a bit in the second viewing although it can hardly enter my top-30. Perfect soundtrack though, certainly one of my favourites. And the ghost town STILL gives me the creeps. 8/10
Valdez is coming
Great Western with Burt Lancaster. It was photographed in Almeria so at least there was some SW feeling in it. I liked the duell at the end.
Have a Good Funeral, My Friend… Sartana Will Pay
I love those titles of the Sartana Movies. Another entertaining Garko Sartana Western and the first half was quite good. Some athmospheric scenes and the attractive Daniela Giordano as the Sartana Girl. The Music Score of Bruno Nicolai was one of the best.
Drango (1957)
I was curious because of the Title but it wasn’t as good as I wished. An union Major Drango and a soldier arriving in a confederate town to bring back law and order. The beginning is quite good when Drango rides into the town and everybody is looking at him hateful. A very slow paced and peace loving Movie. :-\
We SW fans prefer our westerns peace loving …
I’ll Sell My Skin Dearly…so-so at best. I don’t really dig Mike Marshall as the lead.
Lawman with Burt Lancaster on the road for justice path. Just need to see the version where Lancaster gets shot at the end of film again, as this is a better ending in my view.
I’ve had a week off spaghettis, but i’m feeling better now though!
Back watchin’ with a vengeance (but not Vengeance)…
Just watch this meself … then rewatched A Long Ride from Hell with ‘Herculean’ Steve Reeves as the miserable an’ moody escaped prisoner out for revenge.
Usually I’m quite a fan of these grittily not-played-for-laugh films but it was just a bit too ‘linear’ as a story. I actually prefered the Sartana one and enjoyed its twisty-turniness. I could be becoming a Sartana fan. Great music as well in this one. (ALRFH had Phil’s kids playing the sountrack I reckon)
goin’ for scherps choice and Kill The Wickeds next - this looks very promising and my sorta film.
Last Train to Durango (1968/ Dir.: Mario Caiano)
Quite enjoyable Zapata SW with Enrico Maria Salerno, Anthony Steffen, Mark Damon and Aldo Sambrell, Robert Carmadiel … . There are several funny ideas in that one. Overall the music score is good but I wished in some scenes they would have used none. The photography of Barboni is as good as ever and maybe it’s the best movie with Anthony Steffen. Rating 4,5/5

Just finished watching this - thanks for the tip scherps!
It most certainly is the inspiration for Matalo! - even down to the rearing horse, but thankfully does not include the boomerangs. Imo this is much the superior film. Same gothicky feel and a great ghost town - but without the ott weirdness. In fact I couldn’t fault it …
5 outa 5 from me.
Looks like a rewatch for Challenge of the McKennas next, after the latest posts.
re-watched Gemma in One Silver Dollar. Still one of my favorites.
I think this is the delicate matter in this movie. If you like Marshall, it’s a great movie, If you don’t like him, it’s somehow average.
I like him, so I love the movie.
BTW
I rewatched the Wild Bunch yesterday. What a hell of a movie. It’s so damn cool from A-Z. Maybe I’ll watch it again tonight
