The Last Western You Watched?

I remember a sign in a SW: “WELLES FARGO”. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the flick.

Haha. You are good speller. Most people would not have noticed that. (including me!)

I think it was a Fidani or so…

Blood at sundown, have put my comments in the film’s thread.

Death Rides a Horse
Just wanted to prove if it’s still worth to be in my Top 20 and couldn’t stop watching it. My favorite quote of Lee: “Somebody once wrote that revenge is a dish that must be eaten cold”. Another quote from JPL:“I never leave without finishing my drink”. ;D
Holy shit that is sharp. I finished the film last night myself. It was on Google video. It’s pretty good.

Watched four over the last couple of nights. A Brett Halsey double bill (Wrath of God and Kidnapping) plus Man from Oklahoma and $20’000 on 7. Will post about them in their threads.

Very sharp indeed, just been flicking through the film on my dvd player.

Last Western I watched was APPALOOSA (on DVD). Personally, I think this is an outstanding Western–but, might not appeal to all Italian Western fans.

Just before that, I watched a fandub of 15 SCAFFOLDS FOR A KILLER. This is one of the “lesser-known” SW’s that I highly enjoy and it was nice to see it in a version that was better than the old browned-out Israeli VHS to DVD-R copy I have had for years.
However, on this newer copy I have… there was some major “ghosting” (or video drag, or whatever you want to call it) going on throughout the entire film that made it pretty tough to watch.
This is the last disc from this guy that I pick up…because all of his discs play back like that for me.
No problems with any other discs from anybody else, just his.
He’s a super great guy and has a ton of excellent titles available…but, I just can’t handle that stilted movement for the duration of a movie and shouldn’t have to!

It’s a good one…in my Top 20. I have that horrible old version too…aswell as the fandub and the Spanish dvd it presumably came from!

Does your fandub play back with all the ghosting problems, too? Just curious…

Just had a quick check of it (it’s the only version in my possession that i haven’t watched thru yet!) and there doesn’t seem to be a problem during action sequences. There’s the odd wobble…of the whole screen, but if by ghosting you mean the horrible jumps like the Global version of Arozina Colt Returns, then no!

My copy is fine Chris. Cannot remember at the moment does he do an NTSC and PAL version of the film ?

Fidani: Anything for a Friendhttp://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Amico_mio%2C_frega_tu…_che_frego_io! (dvd-r)
-awful comedy western from Fidani.

Challenge of MacKenna.

After recently watching Woods, Ireland and Camardiel in Gatling Gun I fancied seeing something with them in where the roles are reversed. Woods is the bad guy, Ireland the hero and Camardiel the embittered patriarch.
I enjoyed it. So much in fact that I will start a thread on it over in the Spaghetti Western section. Something it seems to lack so far.

Sollima: Face to Facehttp://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Faccia_a_faccia (dvd-r)
-I needed to watch something better after the Fidani. Masterpiece! In my top5.

great movie. I agree it’s in my top 10.

10.000 dollari per un massacro (1967 / Director: Romolo Guerrieri)
Per 100,000 dollari ti ammazzo (Year: 1967 / Director: Giovanni Fago)

I rewatched both and I still like both. IMO 100.000 Dollari is the more interesting and maybe better movie. Claudio Camaso didn’t used as much mascara as in 10.000 dollari but Fernando Sancho has only a short appearance. :-[ With all the flashback scenes, the civil war background and the melodramatic Cain/Abel Story it’s above the average.
On the other side 10.000 dollari isn’t that bad. The story might have some flaws but it’s more typical for the genre. Also this one has a melodramatic touch and Sancho has a bigger role. I like that the character of Garko is only doing his bounty hunter job for 10.000 Dollar. Gianni Garko is showing good performances in both movies. To sum it up 100.000 dollari is the better one of the two.
Two well done SW with great atmospheric scenes.

I watched the Koch Media Release which is of course a joy to watch. The music score of Nora Orlandi is of course a pleasure in both.

I am not sure, amigo. All of my playback units are universal, so I never know if I am playing a PAL or NTSC disc. All I know is that all of the discs I have ever picked up from this guy (THE RUTHLESS FOUR, A PISTOL FOR RINGO, TASTE OF VENGEANCE, and now 15 SCAFFOLDS FOR A KILLER) play back as if the films were originally done as stop-motion animated features!
Truly frustrating to view.
If he has PAL discs (unconverted) available…then that would solve the problem, I think.

Good to hear from you, again, by the way!!
Hope all is well!

“CAVALRY SCOUT” (1951) Calvary scout ( Rod Cameron) is assigned to find two missing gatling guns before they are sold to the indians.
Simple “B” western, rather naive in it’s plotting and dialogue but perhaps i’m being a little too hard on it as it is a product of it’s time and things are wrapped up too neatly and predictably. Average at best.
