The Last Movie You Watched?

Night of the Hunter is one of the best movies ever made imo. I watched What Have They Done to Your Daughters. Not quite what I was expecting but a good film.

OK mate. Cheers[/quote]You’re welcome, mate. If I knew you was thinking of getting the Edgar Wallace box a few weeks ago Network had it for Ā£25 in the sale, it’s gone back up now.

Bugger!
If you see it has dropped again let me know and I’ll jump on it.

Adam and Eve (1983).

Mark Gregory stars in this famous tale. Interesting to see what ideas they come up next in this one. Ranging from a large killer bird and a huge rolling rock which appears to be chasing our duo. Only the Italians could come up with some of the things in this one.

Probably he’s talking about this one:

Yes watched it via Youtube.

Ah good, looks like someone’s done a fansub of it, the DVD is Italian only.

ZOMBIEWEEN

When I initially sat Rob Zombie’s take on the Carpy classic, I despised it. But, after repeated home viewings, I’ve come to enjoy it. I do prefer the director’s cut with the hospital rape scene. And I like that Big Mike’s mask is slowly falling apart.

It’s not a great film by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s a decent timekiller.

ZOMBIEWEEN II

Though I hate the crap with the white horse, I enjoy this sequel. I especially like the director’s cut ending (though the theatrical one isn’t too shabby, either). It’s interesting to see ā€œHobo Michaelā€ exist up until Halloween. I just wish Zombie would lay off his characters using the eff word so much. I know I don’t talk like that, anyway. He cooled it a bit in LORDS OF SALEM, so maybe he’s listening. Heh.

I really like Rob Zombie’s take on Halloween. I like both movies a lot (the first one gets a bit bogged down in the final third but I’m nitpicking), and I’m glad to have come across another human being who feels likewise! Even Zombie himself isn’t keen on those films, I think.

Yeah, we’re definitely in the minority.

I’ll admit that I didn’t like them when I first saw them, though. It took a few repeated viewings for me to warm up to the couple.

What’s your favorite Zombie film?

I like all of Rob’s films except for House of 1000 Corpses, which was… well, a bit shit, really. Best? I’m torn between the obvious choice The Devil’s Rejects and plucky, LOW-budget underdog The Lords of Salem. Both are fugging brilliant. On a different day I might go a different way, but here and now I’m leaning more towards The Lords, a movie which is usually a little harder to champion.

I saw an interview with Zombie on YouTube somewhere following the release of The Lords of Salem, and he said something about not wanting to do any more horrors for a while. Now I reckon this won’t be a particularly widely-held opinion but I’d bloody love him to take a crack at Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian.

His next film is scheduled to be about the 1970s Philadelphia Flyers. I suppose Sherri will play the hockey puck. Heh.

For me Halloween, far better than The Devil’s Rejects. Haven’t seen The Lords of Salem.
