Mugged myself right of buying their releases, I sold all the ones I had, they were like a cancer in the collection.
But apart from washed out colours, wrong ratio, bad covers, bad extras, bad timing, staff with shitty attitudes and yellow casesâŚwhat donât you like about them? 
For some reason the quote function doesnât seem to be working today.

City of the Living Dead: How are the extras?
Inferno: Okay so doesnât look as good as BU, but does it at least look better than the BU SE DVD? How are the extras?
Phenomena: I wonder if the Synapse extras will be able to match the Arrow extras?
Black Sunday: Hasnât come out yet but surely it will be better than the fucked up sorry excuse for a Blu Ray Kino Lorber version? (I hate Kino Lorber almost as much as Yodlaf hates Arrow, how dare they release barebones blu rays with no featurettes to speak of, not to mention boring menu screens!)
Also would like anyoneâs opinion on the Suspiria Nouveaux release and its extras, since an RA release doesnât seem to be forthcoming anytime soon.
As you can probably guess, the presence of extras is immensely important to me. Barebones releases should be fucking illegal!
Back to Inferno:
The Koch BluRay looks amazingly hot. Very colorful, very sharp, very detailed, good amount of grain. I would recommend it although I think itâs oop or at least ridiculously high price. The film itself is great although I prefer Suspira over Inferno. Nevertheless brilliant scenes and fantastic Bava stuff. I really liked it. Looked like in the theatre for me.
Today I watched âBird With The Crystal Plumageâ and âProfondo Rosso (Deep Red)â - I like the former more. Deep Red has some very long scenes whereas Crystal Plumage is fast and very good. Plus Musante steals the show.
A different viewpoint on Arrow⌠Not that I donât understand Yodlafâs dislike for them; Iâm not a fan of them either, but unfortunately I donât have the budget to be ethical, so I buy whatâs best for my price range. Itâs a trade off, which is why I bought their poor The Bird with the Crystal Plumage; I wouldâve much rather had the Blue Underground disc, but that sells for upwards of ÂŁ30, soâŚ
For the covers, some alright, some arenât depending on your viewpoint; they have many reversable ones though so I expect you find one you do like. To me cover isnât a bif thing and rarely a deal breaker; if it has a good one, great if it doesnât, Iâm more conerned about the print.

The extras (I havenât finished watching them all yet) are interesting with some fun cast interviews (the credit animations Iâm apathetic to). It all comes down to budget and price range I suppose and how much you want the film.

Zero Dark Thirty - Kathryn Bigelow
After the boring Hurt Locker this demure thriller (some may call it realistic) is a very positive surprise. The characters are what they wear and what they do. No explanations, no patriotism, no racism, no adjudgement. Just a bunch of guys doing their job with passion (but it could be another one) which happens to be catching terrorists (and killing Bin Laden), which includes torturing people. Directing is pretty good, pretty inspired, but the real trump in Bigelowâs film is the ever incredible Jessica Chastain. Bigelowâs best work so far. 9/10
[B]The Dictator[/B] - This seems to get slated, I was proper laughing through it.
Revisted a couple of 90âs action films tonight.
Eraser was first up which is all about the witness protection scheme and corruption. The star does his stuff, but nice to see James Coburn in this.
Under Siege 2.
The days when Steven Seagal was a slim dude. Probably prefer this to the first film, as one of the main bad guys is such a sarcastic sod.
He wore a corset in Under Siege 2 
A Fine Madness - Sean Connery plays a quick tempered, married, womanising poet with writerâs block. His wife gets him to see a psychiatrist whoâs colleagues want to try a new brain operation to calm him but the psychiatrist is against it, that is until he catches Connery in a hot tub with his wife!
I thought it wasnât too bad and ok for a watch, but watch it with low expectations.
There is an interesting six minute short made at the time of the film titled Mondo Connery on the DVD, which is basically shots of the cast and crew on set and a lot of driving around New York (nice to see the driving around shots of NY in the late 60âs) with a voiceover.
The Day of the Jackal, a film I hadnât seen in years. Watched it 'cause I just finished the book again.
I thought it was very enjoyable. Sure, no masterpiece, but still a quite funny comedy.
Sean Connery was great in it. 
âPoint Blankâ with Lee MarvinâŚgood crime flick, a little dated I suppose, but really enjoyed it.
ZERO DARK THIRTY
This film has got to be one of the worst to be nominated for an Oscar. This filmed sucked big time for me, itâs long, slow and everyone knows how it ends.
Thrills are non-existent and I didnât really care much about the characters. Itâs nothing more than just a crappy Propaganda. Not worthy of the Best Picture award by any means. 5/10
Now iâm off to download Argo, witch i hope is better than ZDT.
I love it; itâs a lot deeper and sophisticated than I first thought when I saw it.
I watched Anchors Away (1945) with Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra earlier today. Itâs a fun film and very well directed by George Sidney, but the script is so twee and and sentimental itâll rot your teeth to the gums and give you high blood pressure and diabetres. Luckily, Kelly and Sinatra are on hand to salvage and overall the film looks ravishing.

I followed Phil Hâs advice and watched this independant Irish comedy thriller starring Brendon Gleeson and Don Cheadle as a very unusual couple of detectives investigating a murder and drug smuggle case in Connemara, Ireland.
I wonât say itâs one of the best films Iâve seen in the last few years, but itâs very enjoyable. Funny, violent and intelligent. As a thriller itâs not exceptional but the black comedy works marvelously. All actors do well, but Gleeson is in a class of his own.
Imagine a cross between Cormac McCarthy, the Coens, Tarantino, Leone and Roddy Doyle and you might get an idea how this movie feels. But you might as well check it out.
Be sure the version you watch has subtitles, the Irish lines (and Iâm not speaking about those in Gaelic) are occasionally quite hard to understand.
[size=12pt]The Young Americans [/size] 1990 Danny Cannon
Not a bad viewing choice, and also not a bad debut for the director. Thereâs nothing particularly new here, but its very well filmed, with a nice photography work. Typical thriller, that tells the story of an American DEA agent played by Harvey Keitel that come to London to assist the London police, in a drug war with new elements strange to them.
Keitel does a good job, but strangely is character is overshadowed by ohthers towards the end of the film, when he suppose to be the main one, the film does lack some coesion, but in the overall its a positive way to spend some time.
Fun to watch some them unknkown actors like Viggo Mortensen, or a very young Thandie Newton. The director moved on straight away to direct Sly Stallone Judge Dread, but after that fiasco ended up directing the CSI series, anyway this one is much better than Judge dread thatâs for sure.
