The director of this SW also directed a SW with Dragomir Bojanic-Gidra which has a melancolic musical main theme (which I like as well as the film)…
Is it They Call Him Amen?
No, my own rating for the SW in question is much higher than the IMDb ranking for They Call Him Amen. A very small new clue
Poker with pistols ? … that was a pretty strong clue
You are right, aldo, in a double sense of speaking.
So your turn now again.
This one is not a ‘Spag’ and could only be described as a semi-western … more a historical drama, with a very famous rock/pop star in the lead role.
‘Ned Kelly’, with Mick Jagger.
Spot on, old chap!
One of my least favorite actors in a very good movie from 1956
Heh, wish I had been more on this thread would’ve gotten this one no problem.
I should think so !!! LOL
C’mon, people … you’re supposed to be ‘western’ experts? LOL Oy vey!
Sadly, I don’t have the ability to do screen shots on this laptop which is why I don’t take part in this any more. But I’ve been shouting at the screen for a while on this one because I knew it from the first frame posted.
It’s a bloody good western from the 50s and one I would highly recommend.
It certainly is, Phil, and was made in 1956, the same year as ‘The Searchers’…
Someone, anyone…
If I post a pic of one of the lobby cards with the title on, that may help…
Is it The Last Hunt with Robert Taylor and Stewart Granger? I believe it was the only time Robert Taylor played a villain.
Thank you makesthemovies.
'The Last Hunt.
Over to you, sir.
It’s a shame that this classic film took so long to get, because it is a Western that deserves so much more recognition than it has received.
