The Great Santini starring Robert Duvall?
That’s the one … well done, Montero, back to you.

… and boy did he make some crap films !

Just to keep things moving along … this is, I believe ‘The Hunger’, by Tony Scott ?
That’s it, @aldo
All style no substance. Maybe of interest to Bowie or Bauhaus fans.
Your turn once more.
I picked up a copy of ‘The Hunger’ recently and watched maybe the first 30 min or so … it didn’t hold my attention, but at least it’s not the like the gaudy coloured heavy contrast stuff he was presenting in the 90s … horrible aesthetics for someone who was a painter /‘fine artist’ … but then of course there are plenty of people calling themselves artist who haven’t the first idea about art.
… rant over, time for another quiz.
A few clues …
The director has only one other feature film credit, but he was camera operator and second unit director on some of the very biggest films of the 1960s and 70s … think huge epics ![]()
The huge epic is ‘A Passage to India’ and Ernest Day. So is it Green Ice?
‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and ‘Doctor Zhivago’ are also on his CV, plus a couple of 007 flicks from the golden period …
I just watched ‘Green Ice’ today for the first time, fairly forgettable lightweight stuff, with Anne Archer looking very pleased with herself and Omar Sharif and Ryan O’Neill, both looking like they needed to get an early night. 4/10
Well done, Montero … the floor is yours

Thank you, @aldo - Led Zeppelin’s ‘The Song Remains the Same’ is on his CV too.
As you can see, this one is yet to make the upgrade from VHS…
L’amante di Gramigna, aka 'The Bandit (1968) ?
That’s the one, @aldo
Filmed in Bulgaria, set in Sicily, based on a short story by Giovanni Verga. It would be well worth checking out if it wasn’t for the abysmal quality of the VHS.
Back to you.
Perfect Friday
Correct … over to you.
Absolution (1978)
Absolutely Absolution, back to you
