[Thailand] Triple X

Haven’t heard much talk about this label, but it’s releasing more and more Gemma spaghettis. I already have A pistol for Ringo and Adios gringo from them and now ordered Return of Ringo. Quality is good with English audio and widescreen. Also Thai audio, haha.

Also available is Day of anger, but that one has no English dub and no English subs either. They’ve also released Inglorious bastards.

any idea if “The Return of Ringo” is better than the Japanese disc.

Don’t know. Only ordered it, so will have to see.

Here’s what’s on the sleeve:

Released by: Triple X Film (Region 0, PAL)
Audio: English (Dolby Digital 5.1), Thai (Dolby Digital 5.1)
Subtitles: Thai
Video: Anamorphic widescreen 16:9

Do not know.

The picture quality on the Japanese re-release Return Of Ringo seems slightly more sharper and clearer than the original Japanese Return Of Ringo in my opinion.

This cover is great!

Front has a picture from Arizona Colt and the back has Gemma and Sancho positioned so they look like they are about have a snog! Is this Brokeback Mountain Thai style?

Haha, Thai poster art is always terribly cheesy, if you ask me. This release seems to be the best (cheapest) option though, if you want one with English audio. I will give a report as soon as I get it, but judging from the other two I have, it will be alright.

I know from an interview with one of his daughters (on the French release of A Pistol for Ringo) that Gemma is still very popular in the Far East. She talks about Japan, but i can imagine that Thai women have the same taste in men. When she was with her father in Japan a few years ago, poor Giuliano was sexually harassed nearly constantly, in hotels, in the street etc.

I have been pleasantly surprised by this label and have a bit more detail on Adios Gringo and A Pistol For Ringo DVD’s.

Adios Gringo is the better quality of the two and by my reckoning uses the Japanese DVD as the master. I say this as the DVD menu seems to be a photoshop job of the japanese disc. All menu’s are in english which is helpful.

A Pistol For Ringo is of a lesser quality than the Japanese release, there is more print grain, less colour and DVD compression artifacts. Not the end of the world although I was a bit disappointed as the print is slightly cropped. This is fairly noticeable in some scenes as the film was “shot wide”.

Both offer english audio with removeable subtitles.

The Thai audio is certaintly an entertaining distraction and these DVD’s are good value for money in comparison to the Japanese editions.

It would be interesting to hear about other releases…

Also available from Triple x -

‘Fort Yuma Gold’ - English and Thai audio.
‘The Price Of Power’ - English and Thai audio.
‘California’ - Italian and Thai audio.

Now also available from Triple X: Hannnie Caulder

Audio Languages: English (Dolby Digital) / thai

Selective Subtitles: thai

Region Encoding: ALL (PAL)

Aspect Ratio: Letterbox 2.35:1

Special Features: Scene Selections

Running Time: 105 minutes

2.35 not bad, as I think the Shoarma Digital release is only in 1.85.

Pistol For Ringo said 2.35:1 on the back of the triple x cover as well, and its not 2.35:1

Thanks for the information.

I think I will wait for somebody else to actually buy the disc and give us the specs, before making a purchase ;).

Added them to the catalog. Also added Trinity is still my name and Death rides a horse.

Anyone has this 5 Man Army release? I wonder if it’s any better than Shoarma Digital bootleg. Johnny Yuma is another interresting one. Wild East version wasn’t great.

Yeah, I got it. Only watched the first couple of minutes of the dvd. It has, at least during the opening titles, disturbances in the picture. So, some print damage and not anamorphic either. It’s definitely not a great dvd, but it’s alright for that kind of sum.
