Terence Hill & Bud Spencer!

Let’s face it, most are just that - though thankfully I’ve met a few who are grounded.

I’m sure it’s very nice for actors who haven’t been in the public eye for a long time, to get a little boost - Some that I’ve talked with are genuinely amazed that anyone is interested in this stuff that’s now 50 years old, give or take.

Perhaps in the States attitudes are different regarding celebrity ? … with so many movie related conventions happening, it gives people a chance to make a little money. However no money changed hands for autographs or photos at the Almeria festival. Also it was free to attend, as it’s supported by the local council in order to encourage tourism and film production,

Well I’ve been reading nonsense since back when I learn how to read, and reading also nice things along the way, FB is no different you read what you wont to read

It’s not that simple - there’s a kind of mania with Facebook which seems to take hold of many people - they seem to think it ok to post the most banal photos and “status updates”

Because it’s in text form, is it ok to bombard strangers you’ve contacted with information that is beyond irrelevant to anyone but those posting !?

No it’s not ok by me to have to look at what someone is having for dinner, or read that they’re in a bad mood because they didn’t get a seat on the bus going to work.

These are ravings, boring, dull, tedious, time wasting irrelevant statements - which are now so common place that no one on social media seems to mind anymore.

If outside of this cyberworld a stranger approached and started to produce photos of ‘dinner time’ or their pets … plus furnished you with unwanted info regarding their private lives … you would assume they were mentally ill, or at least very fucking annoying!

Well normally in those extreme cases I choose the don’t follow treatment, anyway in one form or another we can’t escape de Social Media, but we can choose our own path.

Thankfully that is true

Ah, Nicoletta Machiavelli  … she was so cool in the interviews she gave in the years before her death in 2015. In one of them, she dryly and very matter-of-factly remarked, “I couldn’t act, I was just pretty” (quoted from memory).

Nicoletta was even more self deprecating when I spoke to her … in fact she said that she’d only got film work because some considered her beautiful … and then added, “look at me now!” mocking herself.

She was very pleasant, down to earth, but still had a remarkable charisma and presence, even if she thought her looks had faded.

We spoke about a few films, one of which I recalled ‘The Ravine’, with David McCallum’ were she did actually get a chance to ‘Act’ and was damn good, I thought. She agreed that it was one of the better efforts and mentioned that she would have liked to be in touch with McCallum, but imagined he would be difficult to contact with his TV popularity.

Didn’t have much to say about ‘Navajo Joe’ except that she loved the desert locations - I mentioned Burt, she said he was ok but a little distant. No great scoop there.

I have a photo of her with Dan Van Husen from 2011

Certainly one of her best performances, where her hesitant, insecure, almost reluctant acting fits the character she portrays, Yugoslav WWII Partisan Anja Kovač. But we’re off-topic here.

:sweat_smile::joy::sweat_smile::joy::rofl:

A feature aired by Franco-German television broadcaster Arte last night mentioned that Hill lives in the central Italian region of Umbria, where his father was born. But that program was a rerun and four years old. It showed Hill during the shooting of his TV series Un passo dal cielo in the Dolomites. Besides, he surely has more than one residence.

Would be a must-buy when it is in English translation.

Hi Magnus!

Whahaha I know this movie from Paul Smith, They call Me Shmil but the movie has also the title “The Bull Buster”.
Ive seen this one on VHS tape in my youth.
Do you have this one on DVD?
Its nowhere to be found.

I hope you or anybody can help me out with this movie?

Hey - that was an old message from me… i am currently selling off all my spaghettis, as the interest has waned (and the flat is full)
They call me Shmil was released on vhs here in Sweden in the early 80s, i don´t have it anymore unfortunally. Would actually not mind seeing it again myself, it has a pretty great soundtrack with some kind of psych-jazz, cool.

Well, i did a small search and here it is for sale, and not too expensive:
