Am off to Berlin with my two eldest early tomorrow for a couple of days.
Anyone have any suggestions as what is a must see or do while we’re there?
I’ve heard some of the sunday markets are pretty good. I’ve earmarked the Film Museum and the National Art Museum too (lots of German Expressionist stuff apparently). Plus of course the Brandenburg Gate and Berlin Wall (what’s left of it). Any other suggestions would be welcome.

- The Berlin TV Tower (the largest building in town)
- The Berlin Memorial Church (Gedächtniskirche, is regarded as a memorial against the war)
- Kurfürstendamm (one of the best known shopping streets in Germany)
- Berlin’s Olympic Stadium
- Checkpoint Charlie (ok, you had already mentioned)
- Potsdamer Platz (is an Urban Entertainment Center)

Cool. Thank you
I’ll keep those things in mind.
Never been in Berlin so far; my wife and I wanted to go there last year, but then chose to go to London instead
Tomorrow great day for me in Sport terms
It’s my favourite cycling classica LE PARIS-ROUBAIX
l’ENFER DU NORD
For a mountain Biker like me, it’s the only road cycling race (with some stages form the Tour and La vuelta), that I wish to do, thre are other races but this one it´s special, maybe some I can make the racetrack .
Winners tomorrow
Cancellara
Boonen
Eisel
Sanchez
But for me it’s going to be between Boonen and Cancellara
Just got back yesterday. Hoo boy, I need a rest from my vacation now!! ![]()
Tried just about everything I could but of course could not fit it all in. I can’t even picture that place during Mardi Gras !!!
Favourite place: Acme Oyster House (oyster po’boy was super)
Favourite dish: Had to be the pot of boiled crawfish I destroyed with several ice cold Dixies one hot afternoon.
Favourite tour: graveyard tour.
All in all an awesome trip and had a great week but I am tired, tired, tired now!!!
Football may be the Sport King, but cycling for me it’s the top sport and the most glorious one, who ever climbed the Tourmalet, Hautacam, Mt Ventoux, Galibier, Alp dHuez and others, can tell you about it.
The Paris Roubaix it’s one of the most dificult spring classics with more than 250km always on top speed and with cobbled tracks, difficult as hell for road bikes, and normally bad weather.
This year Cancellara won with a fantastic last 50Km making a own crono, after running from the other favourites, great start of the season for the Swiss.
