My vote goes of course for my candidates. some thoughts:

Giuseppe Vari
http://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Giuseppe_vari
-Rather underrated director who made some really stylistic, well directed film with low budget, for example: Hole in the Forehead, Django the Last Killer and Shoot the Living, Pray for the Dead.

Guido & Maurizio De Angelis
http://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Guido_%26_Maurizio_De_Angelis
-Best known for their (in)famous score for Keoma. Love them or hate them, I think they were the most important composers of the twilight era of the genre.

Eugenio Lardani

-Rather unknown person (Heck, he doesn’t even have a page on the database) but yet he was a man behind the famous title sequences of Fistful of Dollars and The Good, The Bad and the ugly. What would the genre look without his innovative work?

Like Bill, I vote for my own nominees (if everyone, or most of us do that, how are we really going to decide who gets in?):

Director: Antonio Margheriti
A very good director of And God Said to Cain and of (the perhaps not so great) The Stranger and the Gunfighter amongst others, I was surprised to not find him the Hall of Fame already.

Composers: Guido and Maurizio De Angelis
They composed ath the very least memorable (there’s no other word you can use for them!) scores in the Twilight Era of the Spaghetti Western for films like Keoma and Mannaja. For me, they are an indispensible part of the tale of the dying days of the genre.

Producers: Arrigo Colombo and Giorgio Papi
They produced quite a lot of Psaghetti Westerns, but most importantly they were behind Sergio Leone and A Fistful of Dollars. Quite simply, without them, the entire genre may well never have existed, so this is a vote of gratitude.

Supporting Actor: Frank Brana

Supporting Actor: Ignazio Spalla (Pedro Sanchez)

Misc. Crew/Non Participants: Iginio Lardani

I think this is a problem with this year’s system. Last year I think we could nominate 3 but only vote for one which I think was better.

Anyway, as it is I am also going to be very predictable and vote for the same three I nominated:

Lead actor: Bud Spencer
Supporting actor: Horst Frank
Director: JoaquĂn Luis Romero Marchent

hah, where’s the guy when horst needs his vote

last year was the same system as this year

No, last year we could nominate only 1 but vote for three.

Lead:George Martin
Support:Horst Frank, he deserves to be in the hall of fame.
Director:Alfonso Balcazar

I vote for Vari

All votes have been counted so far. Thanks guys.

Yeah I know what you guys mean about nominees being the same as votes. I didn’t really consider that. I think for next year I’ll stick to nominate 1 but vote for three. I think nominations should be less than votes. I just thought this year it’d be good to have a larger group of nominees to vote on but yeah its wierd when everybody’s votes are exactly the same as their nominations but i think thats only happened a couple times so far and maybe not so much a bad thing. I’ll revert back to the old way next year.

Here is my ballot:

Lead Actor: Peter Lee Lawrence
Lead Actor: Bud Spencer
Composer: De Angelis brothers
