Corbucci’s original Django must have been a gigantic success in Germany since the German distributors always had this obsession with Django re-titles?

I think that was the simple reason. So people went into cinema to watch another Django. The Title Django sells.There were even Django Jokes (like the Chuck Norris Jokes today) in Germany. Some of the Franco Nero Movies were changed into Django’s. Interesting you will not find a Western with Clint Eastwood, Guiliano Gemma or Lee Van Cleef renamed as Django. Maybe I’m wrong butI also cannot think of any Zapata Western with the Django Title. These titels are part of the cult in Germany (and other german speaking countries!). Sometimes Titles of Books in german are different to the Original to sell them better. Nowadays this creativity is dying out.
