Great pics Alk0
 Ahhhh! the memories ::slight_smile:

That’s really cool how you matched up the frames from the films, alk0!

I haven’t matched them perfectly I didn’t have any really good comparison photos with me. But I did my best. I can post some pretty badly matched ones later on if you want me to

Terrific job. Thanks for posting.

I would like to visit Colmenar Viejo, perhaps next autumn or spring, and with my chauffeur/wife run up and down the dirt paths at the slopes of the characteristic hill/mountain with its peak called Cerro San Pedro according to Google maps.

Both in Kill The Wicked and Navajo Joe a stagecoach/wagon traveled along those paths. I specially like that kind of open terrain also known from many other SWs such as Requiem For A Gringo and A Gun For 100 Graves.
Actually a couple of decades ago I competed in several uphill races in Andalucia, Murcia and Valencia, but I didn’t then hear of a race up to Cerro San Pedro  Nowadays there are more tougher mountain races than that.

Villa Mussolini

I had first some trouble to find the exact location via search engine of the so called Villa Mussolini in Rome which is known from, for example, many many spaghetti westerns, but now I know that it is located within a certain block limited by Via Giacomo Peroni on two opposite sides of the Villa and Via Attilio Gritti and Via Ardito Desio on the other two sides.

The link to the technology company that nowadays uses the building is https://www.nablaquadro.it/ .
And using the link you see a very nice “video” shot from above and around of the Villa Mussolini which is quite recognisable. The address is Nabla Quadro, Casale 5, Via Ardito Desio, 60, 00131 Roma RM. Below is a search engine derivated picture :

An interesting location matter circumstance is that in Face To Face the stagecoach with Milian and Volonté seems to leave the location Finca de los Genoveses in the direction to the Almerian east coast town San José.
But when you study google maps 3D a hill to the right is missing on google in spite of very well matching far away hills in the background in the direction of the stagecoach.

Near Tabernas you might suspect that a hill is more or less blown away for a new road, but here there obviously is no such thing.

The solution probably is typical for SWs for example. Actually the scene where you see the stage coach leave the finca is shot not some short distance to the north east of the finca but around 600 meters south west of the finca but still with the stagecoach going in about the same direction i.e. north east but actually TO not away from the finca (though not seen).

Such or similar little mysteries might be a component of solving the incredible difficult still unsolved Esperanza railway station location mystery.

Here is a Google link to where the scene was shot if you connect the parts
Google Maps /place/San+Jos%C3%A9,+Almer%C3%ADa,+Spanien/@36.7476506,-2.1371307,24a,35y,54.18h,76.14t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0xd7af28092c06105:0x2be1d0f7f338fd3d!8m2!3d36.7619796!4d-2.109435

I had some difficulty locating this Villa recently - especially as there is another Villa Mussolini location - I believe the location above was used for horse riding by Mussolini.

Just for the record, I noticed that around 63 minutes in my (slightly cut) A Fistful Of Dollars DVD the Rojos gang rides on a gravel/dirt road that partly still exists and they cross the current parking lot at Mini Hollywood.
There is also a continuty since in the next shot they have come around a bend on the current asphalt road along side of Mini Hollywood (built later, in 1965) and which leads up in the hills (and I know it from having run up to the Googlemaps marked Cerro Lee Van Cleef just a couple of years ago).

The link put here by the admin is less relevant though

On this web site you can watch aerial photos over Andalucia from some different time periods . The 1977-83 period photos shows for example the Flagstone town from One Upon A Time In The West, at least most of it.

I was looking into BULLRINGS in SW’s - here is my list:
A Bullet for Sandoval (final shootout scene)
FAFDM (Indio escaping from prison)
Man, Pride and Vengeance (final scenes)
The Mercenary (start/end scenes)

Please add any other SW’s with bullrings!

Not Spags, but filmed in Spain - ‘Return of the Magnificent Seven’, and ‘Valley of Gwangi’

Thanks Aldo.
I see that Valley of Gwangi uses a lot of familiar SW locations - must watch it again - I am sure I watched it about 40years ago.
Just discovered the other day that Man Pride Vengeance was shot in Almeria bullring.
