I thought it would be fun to collect some lyrics of our favorite spaghetti songs here.
I’ll start with Django
Django, have you always been alone?
Django, have you never loved again?
Love will live on, Oh Oh Oh…
Life must go on, Oh Oh Oh…
For you cannot spend you life regreatting.
Django, you must face another day.
Django, now your love has gone away.
Once you loved her, whoa-oh…
Now you’ve lost her, whoa-oh-oh-oh…
But you’ve lost her for-ever, Django.
When there are clouds in the skies, and they are grey.
You may be sad but remember that love will pass away.
Oh Django!
After the showers is the sun.
Will be shining…
Once you loved her, Whoa-oh…
Now you’ve lost her, Whoa-oh-oh-oh…
But you’ve lost her for-ever, Django.
When there are clouds in the skies, and they are grey.
You may be sad but remember that love will pass away.
Oh Django!
After the showers is the sun.
Will be shining…
Django!
Oh Oh Oh Django!
You must go on,
Oh Oh Oh Django…

Levantando en aire los sombreros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Pintaremos de de rojosol y cielos
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Hay que ganar moriendo, pistoleros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Hay que morir venciendo, guerrilleros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Luchando con el hambre, sin dineros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Estudiantes, rebeldes, bandoleros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
Hermanos somos, reyes y obreros
Vamos a matar, vamos a matar, companeros
I kiss at last the beloved ground on my land
That i left one day with my heart, heart full of pain
I have looked in the faces of my old friends
and now what happens you must, you must tell me
You must remember who i am.
If you see a man with downcast eyes and ragged clothes
Walking through your village don’t shut him but go at his side
I’m that man and now i beg you help me, i need you
I need you.
The liar who told my sweetheart i was dead
To take my place
He shall pay for this base lie
Those who saw me as a run-down man
Those who tried to destroy all our world
Shall leave forever out beloved land
Because we are fearless men
Because we are fearless men
Because we are fearless men
Somewhere there is a land where men do not kill each other.
Somewhere there is a land where men call a man a brother.
Somewhere you will find a place where men live without fear.
Somewhere, if you keep on running, someday you’ll be free.
Never, no never no they’ll never lock you in.
No never, no never, no never let them win.
Go ahead young man, face towards the sun,
Run man, run while you can,
Run man, run man, run.
Running like a hare, like deer, like rabbit,
Danger in the air, coming near, you can feel it,
And you’re panting like hare, like deer like a rabbit,
Running from the snare until fear is a habit.
Hurry on and on and on.
Hurry on and on, hurry on and on
Run and run until you know you’re free,
Run to the end of the world 'til you find a place
where they never never never
No never no they’ll never lock you in.
Never, no never, no never let them win.
Go ahead young man, face towards the sun,
Run man, run while you can,
Run man, run man, run.
Keep your hand on your gun
Don’t you trust anyone
There’s just one kind of man
That you can trust
That’s a dead man…
Or a gringo like me.
Be the first one to fire
Every man is a liar
There’s just one kind of man
Who tells the truth
That’s a dead man…
Or a gringo like me.
Don’t be a fool for a smile
Or a kiss
Or your a bullet might miss.
Keep your eye on your goal.
There’s just one rule
That can save you your life,
It’s a hand on your knife
And the Devil in your soul!
Keep your hand on your gun
Don’t you trust anyone
There’s just one kind of man
That you can trust
That’s a dead man…
Or a gringo like me.
Keep your hand on your gun
Don’t you trust anyone
There’s just one kind of man
That you can trust
That’s a dead man…
Or a gringo like me…
Or a gringo like me…
Or a gringo like me…
…like me…
I want to feel between my fingers the warm wood of a plough
the prickly ears of grain
the silky soft hair of my woman…
But I can’t cause I’ve got to kill
I want to look into people’s eyes and see them smiling
to clasp the hand of every man
abd feel mine clasped by him…
But I can’t cause I’ve got to kill
the southern hills are waiting for me
the branches of a trees are weak
and spring is coming back again
I don’t have time to die
In all these things there’s the truth of life
and when I speak of them my voice fails me
Riding with the wind in my face
searching for the human race
out on the road again
fighting fort the right of men
Woman you’re not a friend
everytime I come to you
I find that you’re changing your mind
Always when the chips are down
I find I come to trust your kind
Making my way through the dust
certain people say I must
asking only just to know
and begging for the wind to blow
Woman you’re not a friend
everytime I come to you
I find that you’re changing your mind
Always when the chips are down
I find I come to trust your kind
Come out your mountain proud
shout it to the world aloud
with someone here to share my hand
I never ever leave this land
Woman you’re not a friend
everytime I come to you
I find that you’re changing your mind
Always when the chips are down
I find I come to trust your kind
You left to find a pot of gold.
A thousand miles you rode alone…All alone!
Oh, the long and lonely way
will not lead you anywhere…
You’ll come back home some day;
You’ll come back home some day.
The wind will steal your pot of gold,
And fill your eyes with burning sand, bitter sand!
No star will show the way
and no one will hear your
prayer…
You’ll come back home some day;
You’ll come back home some day
You went away forever;
You went away alone.
But someone’s always waiting
For you… at home… today!
No star will show the way
and no one will hear your
prayer…
You’ll come back home some day;
You’ll come back home some day
You went away forever;
You went away alone.
But someone’s always waiting
For you… at home… today!
I seek the man who killed my friend
and when we meet my life may end
my life depends upon my gun
and my gun spells hope in the land where the rope and the colt are
king
I swore a vow on my dyin’ breath
to ride a trail that ends in death
and death could strike with a frightening jolt of a lightning bolt in
the land where the rope and the colt are king
But oh my darlin’ if I should die
there’s not a soul who will ever know that I loved you so was the
reason why
The days are dust and the nights are black
but oh my darlin’ if I get back
I’ll trade my gun for a weddin’ ring
and I’ll turn my hand to the land where the rope and the
colt…are king

May I take this opportunity to apologise publically to lyricist Attanasio for believing that this song was gibberish for the past 30 years. Obviously that was down to Maurizio’s singing. But even then, I thought it was a geat song.
Here’s a slightly more gibberish song, “Let it Rain, Let it Pour,” from 1972’s Ben and Charlie. Music by Gianni Ferrio, sung by Stefan Grossman:
A cross-eyed man, he said to me
’Let it rain, or let it pour
For I don’t care if the sun won’t shine,'
I been here and I been there
I even been to Arkansas
Where I found me a friend
I call on my friends
Let it rain, I said let it pour
I don’t care if the old man snores
West of the Great Divide
I’m going East to Santa Fe
Grab me a ride, we’re riding blind
Going down the county line
Let it rain or let it pour
I can hear the people say
Play your song, it won’t take long
Like a natural ragtime band
Big-leg Ida, she can’t get high
She just sits and sings the blues
So we’ve been told
Let it rain, let it pour
For I just don’t care
I’m talkin’ now
Let it rain, let it pour
For I just don’t care
Now I’m goin’, I said
Let it rain, let it pour
For I just don’t care
I say I’m goin’
Let it rain, let it pour
For I just don’t care…
Here’s a song by Franco Bixio, Vince Tempera and Fabio Frizzi. I like the lyrics (and wish there were more of them than the endless repetition of the chorus), but dislike the James Tayloresque music:
Silver Saddle
Child of light, now you use a gun very well
You learn so young
You shot a man they said, after he killed your father
Now you ride, silver saddle shining so bright out in the sun
What is your destiny now?
Silver saddle shining in the sun (Silver…)
No place to go (Saddle…)
Looking for a friend (Shining bright…)
Will the anger inside your heart ever end?
Who knows? Who knows?
You learn so young
What is your destiny now?
Silver saddle shining in the sun (Silver…)
No place to go (Saddle…)
Looking for a friend (Shining bright…)
Will the anger inside your heart ever end?
Who knows? Who knows?
“A Man, A Story” from Un Dollaro Bucato
Music by Gianni Ferrio, sung by (I think) Fred Bongusto
(these lyrics may be a little off)
Nobody knows the story of a man
A man that goes unlucky, town to town
He cries when people smile
He smile when people cries
A fascinating woman ride to him
She talks about a night without a moon
He doesn’t care, doesn’t need it
Maybe his heart is dead, maybe his life is sad
Maybe at the end of story, I’m that man
Music by Luis Bacalov, vocal by (I think) Edda Dell´Orso
His name was King
He had a horse
Along the countryside
I saw him ride
He had a gun
I knew him well
Oh, I heard him singing
I knew he loved someone
His name was King
He had a brother
His only brother
A peaceful guy
One day they found him
His shirt was red
Two shiny bullets
They found his brother dead
You can’t see King
Whoa, he’s riding
You can’t see King
That man is searching
Got to fight his anger
Find in his eyes
Sure to find that killer
Looking for the man
His name was King
He had a brother
His only brother
A peaceful guy
One day they found him
His shirt was red
Two shiny bullets
They found his brother dead
His name was King
He had a horse
Along the countryside
I saw him ride
He had a gun
I knew him well
And when he shot
Oh that man, he never missed
I hope you guys don’t mind my continuing to post lyrics here. I hope someone finds this helpful one day.
The Last Game (Theme from Death Sentence)
By Gianni Ferrio
Vocal by Nevil Cameron
Start praying 'cause this game’s for real
The stakes are high: it’s my turn to deal
I wish you luck, it’s the last round to go
Sure is tough to lose, guess you ought to know
I play this game to win
So you’d better pray for help somehow
The tricks you’ll be using
Won’t stop you from losing
’Cause I’m the winner now
All your chips are down and mine sky high
So losers die
Put your gun away
It’s my lucky day
Now your turn to pay
And better luck next time
Except there’ll never be another time for you
And better luck next time
Except there’ll never be another time for you
sempre sempre tu sempre correrai
niente al mondo mai ti spaventerà
come il vento vai corri uomo va’
Clayton oh Clayton lui pagherà
ha fatto il male… pagherà
ci pensa Iddio per tutti noi
penserà Iddio anche per lui.
Non va mai lontano
chi male ti fa
se aspetti sul fiume di lì passerà.
Lascialo andare
tu uccida chi è simile a te
non dimenticar che il cielo
un giorno giudicherà te e quello che fai.
Basta così
non devi uccidere più
mai più.
Non è scritto che
tu uccida chi è simile a te
non dimenticar che il cielo
un giorno giudicherà te e quello che fai.
Basta così
non devi uccidere più, mai più!
