:moneybag: :dollar: Support the SWDb

Please donate. It helps. If enough folks just donate tiny amounts, that would be even better than just a handful of people donating large amounts. So donate just 2 bucks maybe…

SWDb  Letterboxd

  1. Follow our official SWDb Letterboxd HQ account. Click here to learn more about that.
  2. On any movie page in the SWDb there is a direct link to their respective LB entry at the bottom. Click it, log the film, rate the film.
  3. Do the same on IMDb and other film platforms, it helps other film fans find films and it keeps these film entries active and useful.
Thank you for your attention in this matter

:dvd: Home video news:

September kicked off the Dollars Trilogy restoration release in France, brought a DEFA western box to the UK and returned the Road to Alamo to BluRay in Germany. Altogether not too bad a month.

October continues the Dollars trilogy in France, which will also get an HD release of Yankee before Germany does in November. Alex Cox’ new western arrives in the US, the rest are mostly re-issues, but a particular surprise is the Czech western Lemonade Joe arriving in the US (albeit for rights issues with an English dub), talking about rarities!

November is shaping up to be a wild month, stay tuned! Check the calendar regularly, we often update it several times a day! We suggest bookmarking it.

:shopping_cart: JPC and FNAC

We have expanded FNAC (France) links in the SWDb and we joined the JPC (Germany, ships internationally) partner program. Please use our links for shopping (even if you end up buying something else). This adds to our links for Amazon USA, Canada, Australia, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and Sweden, as well as DeepDiscount and MoviesUnlimited links that we have. Many may be broken or out of date, please report those instances. Using these links supports the SWDb, thank you!

:church: Obituaries

Our head of obits, the spaghettiologist @Tom_B had to update the boot hill cemetery with an unfortunate 7 new obituaries over the course of the last four weeks, including the legendary Richard Harrison. Rest in peace!

:balance_scale: Reviews:

Please contact us if you want your reviews published. We are especially looking for reviews of movies that have no, or very few, reviews in the SWDb. We publish them in all languages, and you don’t need to be a professional writer!

:cowboy_hat_face: :sunrise_over_mountains: :cactus: Burgos locations and local politics

If you’ve been following various Facebook channels, including ours, you may have read that there was an effort to have the Sad Hill Cemetery designated a cultural landmark in front of a local or regional political board (the effort failed). For outsiders it may sometimes be tricky to understand the various stakeholders in the Burgos region of Spain where it is located, and the various entities and persons involved. In this case this has prompted the established cultural association, the Asociacion Cultural Sad Hill, to issue a statement, which you can read in Spanish or with the help of machine translation. The blog Spanish Western also has an explainer article about the competing entities that is worth reading.

:globe_with_meridians: Follow us on #Filmsky

For page owners like the SWDb, it’s a tiresome effort and the corporations milk us in the cage they have locked us in. So we much rather welcome and meet you all on here on our own message board - no ads, no fees, pure freedom. We are trying out BlueSky these days, which is sort of like Twitter when it was still decent. If you’re on there, see you also on BlueSky, where we have surpassed the mark of 870 followers this week.
