Once again thanks to @Pumaman I am finally seeing this one (just like Bianco Apache, on the French BluRays).
I have to say I thought this wasn’t half as bad as expected. It’s certainly a bit more old schooley spaghetti westernish than the other in atmosphere, and a bit sleazier by a mile or two. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still not the greatest movie, but it has some merit. Mapi Galan (who runs a yoga retreat on Ibiza today) adds some eye candy (and gets to be a John Rambo style badass, too) to this at times rather rowdy flick that is sleazy in dialogue, violence and chauvinism… it was probably made more for the video store audience in mind. Having said that, the movie knows how to play with the genre, from stolen soundtrack bits to our familiar locations, quite decent camerawork and a typical storyline. Call it a down and dirty midnight type flick that hasn’t aged too well. With expectations adjusted, it’s a fair effort. And it has certain parallels to Hannie Caulder I think, too. The French BluRay is pretty solid. In sum, a way better experience than expected.
