Yes! Another Return of Sabata sympathiser . Although like you said, it’s not going to win any awards but it’s still a super fun film and has many interesting and unique moments that make it so much more memorable and fun to watch than most other ‘bad’ spags.
Got to agree!
I saw this one on the Eureka Blu Ray today having not seen it since a TV screening over 30 years ago. I couldn’t remember any of the details other than a recollection there were hardly any killings and it wasn’t as good as the original or Adios Sabata.
Now watching it after a repeat viewing of the other two Sabatas and the Sartana series (which I’d never seen until recently) in chronological order I’d have to confirm it is the worst of these eight films.
Apart from the opening 5m I thought the first hour was just so…boring. No plot, no mystery and very few laughs either. It’s like Parolini was trying to out do the other ‘anti spaghetti western’ Boot Hill. The German supporting guy was too weak and useless and not amusing. I guess Sabata’s new found sexual prowess is meant to be a joke. It picked up a bit at the end but this was just a rehash of the original Sabata. Annabella Incontrera looked gorgeous but her part was a disposable one.
Oh and the score was so lazy - bum bum bum Sabata. A five year old could do better.
I got the Eureka set in the mail the other day, and started with Adios Sabata. Brynner is not much of a Sabata, but neither is Indio Black. Of the three, Return of Sabata I watched the least amount of times. I remember disliking it, but now it was slightly better. The only real highlight is the presence of Annabella Incontrera.
