Very sad indeed. The first film I saw her in was Lean’s GREAT EXPECTATIONS. Cold and beautiful. I was VERY young. I thought she was great. She’s done a lot of “voice work” to in the not so distant past; HOWL"S MOVING CASTLE and many History Channel presentations. :’(
Great Expectations was my first experience of Ms Simmons too and I was as enraptured by her as poor young Pip. As you say, cold and beautiful. Hauntingly so. Sad to hear of her death. (presuming that she actually is of course )
Maybe it’s all a big publicity stunt. They all got together and planned their deaths to boost old movie sales! As Oscar Wilde says, “There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.”
Jean Simmons was a very beautiful British actress and she was at her best in films like “Spartacus” in 1960 and she was married to Stewart Granger for a while. r.i.p Ms Simmons :’(
Sad to hear about Jean Simmons. I liked her in many, many films.
RIP.
Zelda Rubinstein has died. Her most famous role was probably the one in the Poltergeist films:

I just heard that Lionel Jeffries died on 19 February 2010. Jeffries co-starred in the fondly remembered Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. RIP. :’(
RIP Corey Haim
1971 -2010
I missed reading the post on Dan O’Bannon (I love his work - recently re-watched Return of the Living Dead) and now one of the two Corey’s is gone. That is a shame. RIP Dan and Corey
Only seems like yesterday when I first viewed The Lost Boys with him in, and what an early age to die.
Read that is was an accidental OD (aren’t they all accidental). Being a child star seems to attract drug addiction. A shame.
Sometimes, I wonder… Anyway, RIP Corey Haim.
