Just saw a post from a Facebook friend, such a shame, what a talented actor Mario Adorf was. Not sure how many people know this neat little story about him, but I saw him in an English-speaking interview for Deutsche Welle quite a while back, and he revealed Francis Ford Coppola offered him a part in The Godfather. Adorf really wanted to play Sonny Corleone, but Coppola told him James Caan had the part, but offered him any other role he found interesting, but Adorf only wanted to play Sonny, and they parted.

Very sad news. Adorf was excellent in everything he did.
Dear me, my avatar passed away… Always liked the guy, and El Diablo from The Specialists is a special favourite. R.I.P. buddy
