Original vhs covers

Deguello (Greece)
Iā€™ve had one of these a while but i havenā€™t gotten round to seeing it yet.
I was told it was American so i have avoided it so far (not that i avoid all U.S.westerns!)
I turned it off after five minutes. What really struck me immediately was the horrible editing. The actng was poor too. Will be watching it sometime in the future though.

There is a few Spaghetti VHS covers here (aswell as lots of other stuff).

Hello, Iā€™m looking for these two covers:

Thanks ENNIO

My pleasure :).

Looking for a scan of the greek VHS cover to THE LYNCHING ā€¦ if anyone can help would be appreciated.

Found these Dutch ex rental covers on the web, all from a guy named Peter. So, thanks Peter!

This one looks aceā€¦

Yes, this A Man Called Blade one is great!

Those Videoscreen and Video for Pleasure VHS videocassettes bring back good memories

In the 80s I hired (you didnā€™t buy as much films in those days, cassettes were rather expensive) a lot of their cassettes;
they must have released some 40 or 50 spaghetti westerns; in Antwerp, were I lived then, was a Videotheek specialized in so-called ā€œB moviesā€ that had entire shelves filled with westerns, war movies, thrillers (and porn).

Yeah, I like them too.
A lot of spaghetti westerns were released on vhs in The Netherlands during the eighties. And now on dvdā€¦ almost nothing.
Iā€™ve been (and still am) working on a complete catalog of Dutch releases, both past and present:
http://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Dutch_releases
If you see anything missing, feel free to add. And if you encounter some rare vhs (rommelmarkt or videotheek leegverkoop) Iā€™d be very interested.

Same situation in Denmark. Lots released in the 80ā€™s, just see this nice overview of releases:

http://home.worldonline.dk/monster1/Frameset.htm

Today almost nothing comes out. Another World Entertainment throws one out now and again but nothing near the 100+ releases on VHS. Think Iā€™ve got a couple of hand fulls of Danish spaghetti western DVD releases and 60 on VHS. A damn shame.

Also started work on a Videoscreen back catalog:

Nice retro design to their sleeves.

Great !

I love those Dutch titles
Yesterday I watched ā€œHet Moment om te dodenā€

I still remember a large painting (yes, really a painting) above the entrance of the Rembrandt theatre in Eindhoven

DE DOOD KWAM TE PAARD

That one is truly great! Never heard it.

Hereā€™s an (incomplete) list of Dutch titles.
http://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Dutch_Titles

I especially like ā€˜De groeten aan de duivelā€™ and ā€˜Django maakt uw doodskistā€™.

I had read that list before, I particularly like:

EEN BENDE PLOERTEN VOOR DJANGO (Django the Bastard)
(= A gang of crooks for Django)

I always wondered where the (Belgian) title MEN NOEMT MIJ SALIGO (= They call me saligo) for ā€˜Day of Angerā€™ comes from, as far as I know there is no Saligo in it. Maybe in French (the French title is ON Mā€™APELLE SALIGO - same meaning) frank Talby was called Saligo.

Also nice:
HALELUJAH VOOR EEN PAAR VUISTEN (Boot Hill)

The first Trinity was called DE RECHTER- EN DE RECHTERHAND VAN DE DUIVEL (The right and left hand of the Devil), therefore all films with Hill&Spencer had either VUIST (fist), HAND or DUIVEL (devil) in it
TRINITY IS STILL MY NAME > DE VIER VUISTEN VAN DE DUIVEL (= The four fists of the Devil)
GOD FORGIVES ā€¦ I DONā€™T > DE DUIVEL KENT GEEN GENADE (= The Devil knows no mercy)
