And They Smelled the Strange (Greece)
Isn’t the whole title “And They Smelled the Strange, Exciting, Dangerous Scent of Dollars”?
“And they smelled the strange” sounds quite… strange?

Hehe, who understands those Greeks anyway? I agree with you, it sounds more like a movie about nasal fetish or something, than a spaghetti western.

Nice. You gotta love those VHS-covers. Thanks Mr. Lieutenant!

Gotta love this. Wasn’t this used as a cover for “Joko invoca Dio… e muori” in Germany? This seems to happen with SWs a lot, actually…

True, true !!! This picture of George Hilton has nothing to do with ‘Fast Hand’ because he’s not in it. It’s the cover of the first Halleluja movie !!!
So strange…

So who the hell is Mulligan? There’s no such a character in the whole movie!

Re-used VHS covers and wacky, non-sensical titles. Yep, it’s a spaghetti western all right! That’s a couple of reasons why we love 'em, I guess…

aka ‘Perchè uccidi ancora?’
Is this movie any good ?

The artwork on the front of this cover comes from the original poster for the Richard Harrison film EL ROJO. And it has also been used to sell VENGEANCE.
Heh heh!
You might expect this sort of thing from small companies with limited means, but MGM/UA use the wrong stills to promote their SW’s all the time.
On the new US version of FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE–they use a still from some unknown American Western in the middle of the booklet!

I like it. It is not a GREAT movie, by any means, though. If you like SEVEN DOLLARS ON THE RED you might like this one. It is at about the same level. Except, SEVEN DOLLARS ON THE RED has a much, much better musical score.
I’m about to watch it ! I didn’t like ‘Sette dollari sul rosso’ that much (the score is really good though), but it’s been some time since my last view. I’ll let you know my opinion later on !!!

I’ve had one of these a while but i haven’t gotten round to seeing it yet.
I was told it was American so i have avoided it so far (not that i avoid all U.S.westerns!)
Yeah, I’ve got that one. (different cover though)
It’s not up to much actually mate. You haven’t been missing anything.

Phil H. is correct. You haven’t missed much. But, it is actually more of a Mexican production (very little US money went into it). My friend, Ted Markland, has a role in the movie and he told me that it was entirely a Mexican production when they were shooting the thing, but the post-production budget was rounded out by an American interest. Ted’s check came from a Mexican source.
But, anyway…bottom line: Poor movie.
