My SW Collection
@Cactus Charlie. I think I know you from Demonoid.com. Don’t know if what you’re listing is (partially) files on your hard disk?
In that case I could add a hundred more myself.
Btw, I forgot Yankee and Shoot, gringo, shoot
You might , i was called RebelRocker on there. I downloaded quite a lot from there and burned them to DVD.

In my opinion it all counts, the media is irrelevant. Files on your hard discs are also just dvdrs waiting to happen

Precisely.

I am on a low income and downloading movies has saved me a fortune.

I have lots of SW’s that i have bought too and the ones i download i always burn to DVD-R.

I don’t quite see what Bad Lieutenant’s problem is?

Why do you think I have a problem? I don’t. I merely interpret the word ‘collection’ otherwise. In my opinion it’s official releases (dvd, vhs, laser disc etc.) only, not bootleg- or home made dvdr’s. That’s why I don’t count them and I thought that this was the general consensus, hence I was surprised at your impressive list, that’s all.

I just assumed you were criticising me for downloading movies and calling it a collection.

IMO , a movie collection is just that ,whether or not the content has been bought or not.

Some of the SW’s i have download were not available on DVD at the time i DL’d them.

I found a torrent of $20,000 On The Red , a couple of days ago and downloaded it, this is a rare movie so i hope you can see my point.

It’s impossible to buy SW DVD’s in my area in the UK, and i refuse to pay the extortionate prices of DVD’s in the UK.

I have picked up some great bargains on EBAY & Amazon , in the past.

Disagreeing is not the same as criticizing. I’d be a bit of hypocrite if I’d have objections to you downloading stuff, because I do that myself too. Maybe it’s the film geek in me that says downloaded movies are not to be called (part of a) collection. And if I really enjoy a downloaded film and it’s ripped from a widely available release, I will purchase that release. Morally I feel it’s not fair to those companies that release spaghetti westerns to stick to the downloaded stuff. Furthermore, this is a niche market. If only one person would buy the legit release and rip it for downlaoding purposes, and everybody else would only download it, it will be over very soon with spaghetti western releases. And that’s not what we want, now do we? And I know from experience that most of the spaghetti westerns on Demonoid.com were ripped from widely available dvd’s (Wild East, Blue Underground etc.). As far as the stuff goes that has not had a dvd release yet and is ripped from old vhs’s, that’s a whole different story as far as I’m concerned. No official release, because there isn’t any, is harmed by doing that.
By the way, with the help of the internet the world is your oyster nowadays. So don’t tell me you can’t get reasonably priced stuff where you live. The us dollar is worth not a whole lot these days. And I too live on limited funds by the way.

Fair enough.

The nearest largest town to me is Dundee (Scotland) and it is impossible to get SW’s in the few media stores they have there, and if they do they will cost anything between £12.99 to £24.99, that’s a bit stiff for my pocket.

Yes, the internet is my oyster for buying movies and like i said earlier , i have bought many bargains from it.

The only thing i will reiterate is the fact that i am on Incapacity Benefit that’s the only money i have coming in and i have my home to run and also a telephone line, my PC the other charges i have pay here in the UK eg Council Tax and TV Licence. I simply cannot afford to splash out on new DVD’s very often as they are not on my list of priorities, hence my downloading stuff frequently.

Agreed?

Sure, man. No problem.

Cheers.

I sure as hell miss Demonoid, i got lots of stuff from there besides SW’s. I wish it would come back.

Maybe they’ll relocate like they did before, but the site’s been down for a pretty long time now.

Yeah, it’s been a few months now and Torrent Spy has closed too.

Haha. You will be amazed at some of the folks on here and their collections!
I’m a addict.
As a matter of fact I’m on my way to the pawn shop right now to hawk my son’s bike.

Yeah. I hope to some day amass a collection to theose sizes.

Pawning the bike is a good first step but there’s nothing like regular employment for the kiddies to help push that collection along. Get the lad out to work! There must be some chimneys need sweeping in San Francisco. I’ve currently got my youngest out barefoot selling lucky heather to the tourists. She doesn’t like it much of course, but I’m sure she’ll see the benefits when that Django box set arrives from germany.

The films I have on my buy list are El Condor, Wanted Johnny Texas, Blindman, They call Me Hallelujah, a sky full of stars for a roof, and the ruthless four.

I must update mine, i have loads more since posting my list.

That’s why it’s so great being young.
The youngers are not so stucked with their opinions, they learn, they change, they make all of this wonderful experiences.

Phil, your kids will never stop to be thankful for all these SW related things they have to go through (especially when they sell all your seldom SW items in 20 years for astronomic prices).
