i got my name in print at last!!! in the thanks column ;D

That’s cool.

I just watched Bava’s Kidnapped. It wasn’t as good as I had expected but that’s mainly because I watched the Kidnapped version not the Rabid Dogs which seems to have better music and dubbing.

But I also like more crime films which have tough guy police (preferably played by Merli) to kick the criminals asses.

Agreed, the rabid Dogs version is the better of the two, it also has the better music and dub as you points out.
The main difference is the pace of the film though, and the way its filmed. Kidnapped moves at a much faster pace, and does not use close-up filming and colours to the same effect as Bava does in Rabid Dogs.
This makes Kidnapped look like a much newer film. Maby its done to please younger film viewers.

The newly added scenes were also unnecessary to the plot I think. And it was too obvious that they were filmed later.

I agree, especially the scene where the mother phones the police should have been left out as it gives away to much of the plot.

still haven’t gotten around to getting this version yet, all i have is the German lucertola release.

I watched Giuliano Carnimeo’s Secrets of a Call Girl with Edwige Fenech, NoShame dvd . Not very good film but it was great to see Fenech on the recent interview as a extra feature. She’s still stunning beaty.

She’s definately still looks beautiful :o (most of them are quite haggard now)

I wonder if anyone have seen “The Bastard” from 1968 with Klaus Kinski and Giuliano Gemma directed by Duccio Tessari.
The film is extremly difficult to find, I don’t think it has been released on DVD.

Edwige Fenech is indeed still a very attractive woman.
I grateful for all italian crimemovies that has appeared on DVD, but in the past month it seems like nothing has happened.
No new crime movies has been released or announced to be released, a pity.

apparently the companies are hardly making any money off them, a shame, i love Italian crime movies!

Especially Maurizo Merli, he kick’s sss! 8)

Yes there are many excelent crime actors, like Nero, Milian, Merenda, Merli, Testi etc.
There are italians companies that releases movies but far all from them includes english subs or dubs.
At least Raro released The cop in blue jeans, finally I can get rid of my bad Westlike who is an VHS-rip

unfortunately that is very true.
What is worse is that Blue-underground is closing at the end of 2007 simply because its impossible to earn any money, that has been anounced by the owner William Lustig himself.
Its also rumoured that NoShame is about to do the same, that has not been confirmed though.

i heard that in an American trade magazine no shame had an advert to sell 60,000 dvd’s at a bulk price, don’t know how true it is though

Its the same thing I have heard, but as you say its not been confirmed.

I heard the same thing about Blue Underground and began to wonder about No Shame. No new releases (in US) for many months got me real suspicious. If you look at all the great italian movies released by No Shame in Italy it makes me sad that we maybe never will see these movies on a decent DVD-release with english dub or subs.
I also heard that BU shoul release an double disc on The Stendahl Syndrome, anybody knows if this will happen?

I watched The Blue-Eyed Bandit today. An ok movie starring Franco Nero, with some fine music by Morricone. The plot is simple and the movie is never spectacular. Nevertheless, it managed to keep me entertained. The next Italian crime flick I will be watching is probably Di Leo’s Killers vs Killers.
