Italian Crime Films
Yes, thats right it is the Japanese DVD, and I am really looking forward to watching, but all I seem to do these days is get the films and not watch them!.

I will have to make an effort, instead of trying to earn a few dollars more.

Do you have the DVD or a tape?
i used to have a dutch tape years ago under the title BIG GUNS but i have now got rid of that and have got the Japanese dvd, it’s a beautiful print of the film by the way

I just got the NoShame version of “A man called magnum”. The film is decent, but nothing special and not up there with the best films in this genre.
Luc Merenda’s performance is to bleak in my opinion, I think that with Merli or Nero in the lead role the film would have been way better.

I was expecting a bit better from this aswell.

Talking of crime films, has anyone seen “Squadron Volante” or “Young, violent and desperate” with Tomas Milian? If so, are they worth getting?

Yes, I have seen both of them.

I like to see any crime film I have not seen before so I suppose I am a bit one sided on this one.

I thought “Squadron Volante” was the better of the two, with Milian giving a good performance , and he plays a good guy in this one.
Has some good action in to as I recall, but I saw this one over a year ago.
Good solid film, and watched it from a DVD source which is in English, with only a few bits which are in Italian only.

Young, violent and desperate I did not prefer as much, perhaps because I watched it from a VHS source, and not DVD, or I may have not been in the mood for the film.

Interesting to watch, but just thought it was perhaps lacking something for me to perhaps watch again.

If you have not looked already , The Exploited web site has both of these titles as I recall.

Thanks for the info  Actually, xploited is where i was looking. I spend way too much money there! I know it’s probably a lesser known title but i wish someone would release a nice copy of "Night of Hate with Tomas Milian and Claudio Camaso. I have it but it’s a terrible quality verson taped from the tv, and full of adverts plus some annoying guy who keeps popping up on screen and making comments about the film!

Yes, you can easily get carried away at the EXPLOITED site.
I have my eye on a few things myself.

Well Silver, you will have to tell me more about NIGHT OF HATE, as I have not seen this one!

I know what you mean though when you have a film with adverts in or something like that.

Well, again, you may have just seen it under another title; (Cronica di un atraco; Diary of a holdup; La lunga notte di Tombstone). Basically it starts with a police chase after a robbery and Claudio Camaso’s character (Scott) ends up crashing his car and getting arrested and sent to prison. Meanwhile, former gang member Fulencio, played by Fernando Sancho, tries to reconnect with hs estranged son Chino (Tomas Milian), initially through throwing money around, which the son is unimpressed with. Later, Scott gets out of prison and forces Fulencio to agree to one more safecracking job (the alternative being death!) Chino joins the gang to try and keep an eye on his dad but things start to go wrong when the old man can’t get the safe open and the gang has to hole up in a diner to wait for the cashier to turn up with the keys. Ironically the diner is run by Chino’s girlfriend, The gang then basically hold the town hostage while Scott becomes ever more pissed off and violent, and it becomes clear that both Chino and his dad are now in danger from him. Eventually Chino kills another gang member who tries to assault his girlfriend, and then has to deal with Scott. I think it’s a relatively unknown film, and it has it’s faults, but it’s not a bad watch. (Or it wouldn’t be if i could get my hands on a decent copy! :D).

Thanks for the info.

No, I have not heard of this film, but it is now on my want list!

Sounds an interesting film.

If I come across a good version I will let you know.

I wonder if anyone in here have seen “Romanzo criminale” it’s a new italian crime film, it gets a very good rating at IMDb.

Well i’d defintely appreciate a decent copy if you ever come across one, thanks! In the meantime, if you ever fancy seeing the crappy quality one with the annoying man and his inane comments, then let me know.

No problem Silver, and thanks for your offer.

all great movies, Almost Human must be Tomas Milian’s vilest character he’s ever portrayed, a complete bastard in it!

If is he is even more evil than he is in Four of the Apocalypse he must be a serious bastard

Most definately

I love ALMOST HUMAN, classic stuff.

Almost human is best of those and maybe the best crime film ever! Street Law is great too but the story was kinda implausible in my opinion. Gambling City is best film with Luc Merenda i’ve seen so far, good story and lots of nudity  Dayle Haddon is amazing beauty!

i think Gambling city is an excellent movie but i do prefer The Violent professionals
