I Just Bought … (the SW Shopping Diary)

Pre-Ordered

Went with Cover B, something about it is just so cool looking. Got this through OFDb.de, paid about 38 USD after PayPal added their overseas quota, but I know it’s gonna arrive very well packaged.

Just Pre-Ordered

After hearing so many good things and reading about its origins, I’m super excited to be adding this Shakespeare SW to my ever growing collection. I saw a review in a Blog-a-Thon I was happy to be a part of that it’s surprisingly faithful to Shakespeare, so I’m extra curious now.

Ordered yesterday. According to the reviews, the transfer is so-so, but I collect everything with Steffen

I didn’t know this blu ray existed. Nice, with the English sub. Is it 100% sure it’s region free? Can somebody confirm that?

I hope the region is free. Here is the information:
https://www.spaghetti-western.net/index.php/Lunga_fila_di_croci,_Una/BluRay
https://bluray.highdefdigest.com/9175/hanging_django.html

I have the Raro DVD edition and it sadly doesn’t state the region anywhere on the case.

I was 99.9% sure it was but, just to be on the safe side, I played my Raro Video copy on each of the regions on my all-region player and it played on all of them.

it’s in the SWDb :)) gotta do your homework, amigo :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes I saw it. Next time I will rely on SWDb :grinning: I just want to make sure. I also couldn’t find it on the cover.
Thanks for checking Dean and LankyGringo.

I thought you would be looking at the multi-format blu ray - which is the one I have. Sorry about that.

Sold a big ticket item on eBay yesterday, so I decided to treat myself with another pre-order

I saw the opening credits sequence on YouTube and thought it was cool, so I’m certain I’m in for an enjoyable ride. From what I understand, this was Gemma’s one and only attempt at the kind of Anti-Hero we’ve come to know and love in the genre, I’m hoping for a B+ performance.

Don’t know how you came to ‘understand that’ … it’s Gemma doing Gemma, a likable smart-ass.
It’s one of his most enjoyable films.

Gotta admit I was going by the opening song lyrics was he a man without a heart, the man with a heart made of stone. :grinning: Still looking forward to seeing Gemma’s performance either way.

A+ in my opinion. next to the Ringo films in my personal favs. And yes, it is indeed Gemma doing Gemma.

I like it even more than the Ringo films. But it’s a close call. AC is slightly darker and cynical - more of a '66 SW than a '65 SW is a way to put it :+1::grin:

I do too. Close though, like you say.

Hey, @Bill_san_Antonio , I just happened to take a look at your page (yes I’m a stalker ) and I had to ask, what movie is that picture of the naked “Indian” from? Its driving me mad - I’m sure I’ve seen it somewhere before.
