I thought there was a reasonable high probability for that in my case also, since that Gidra double feature seems scarce and presumable therefore expensive with English audio.
It’s certainly not the cheapest movie around but it’s really not too bad it seems. A copy just sold for $35 on ebay and there’s this one located in the UK that might go for a good price:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tequila-Joe-Hole-Between-The-Eyes-Wild-East-DVD/362887509454
But I think I paid around USD 35 + shipping from US for the “vanished” copy. There was one for around USD 200 or so if I remember correctly.
OK. There was one sold on ebay for $35 on January 3th. Maybe that was you then? There are currently three copies on ebay one for $60, one for $50 and the UK one that is a regular auction starting at £15.
Also this seller on Amazon UK has 4 copies at £18 but apparently only selling to UK customers:
I ordered my copy from a US seller on Amazon UK Nov 3 with last arrival forecast Nov 29 (and first arrival forecast well before that). The price was GBP 35.44 + Postage & Packing GBP 14.00. So I thought it was reasonable to contact the seller the first week of Dec and did so Dec 3. That same day I got answer from the seller who thought it was lost in mail AND I received also a rapid mail from Amazon UK that they would refund all the money and they did so within very short time.
I am a bit curious if there ARE English audio DVDs selling for similar prices that also are delivered
It’s weird cus I’ve been buying a lot from that seller, including that DVD
I received this German audio DVD rapidly though today, straight to my door. It is the first time I watch A Hole In The ForeHead/ A Hole Between The Eyes with high image quality and it made a difference.
I find the movie structure not so far away from Yankee which was a slight disapointment (6/10), but I feel that A Hole In The ForeHead/ A Hole Between The Eyes is a little bit better. It has a consistent nice a bit dark mood which is underlined by the good music which though maybe could have been more varied.
Perhaps I will try to get an English audio DVD, but the German audio was maybe less annoying than I had expected once I nearly “forgot” about it and concentrated on the English subtitles. ( I did always have highest mark in German in school many many years ago so I might get disturbed by hearing and understanding some words of that language when I want to “think” in English )
Those tapes are very nice, especially God is My Colt! Love that film. Where did you get them?
God is my Colt was the most pricey! It’s a Swedish tape but looks just like English one on the Database page. I got them from www.boavideo.com
Lucky find! Personally, I’ve never been able to find any UK release of the film. I’m not even sure the one on the database is from the UK. I do have a nice Yugoslavian tape though.
Mine is from a Swedish label called Baroness, pretty collectable label. The hardest one in their catalogue is Crea’s ”The Crow” wich is near impossible to find.
I think he’s experienced a revelation, because in his Hellbenders commentary he says Navajo Joe is “pretty good”, and in his Specialists commentary, he refers to it as “great”
The only ones he truly despises, are Sonny and Jed (he’s offended by Milian’s misogyny) & Johnny Oro.
So after the first copy’s dissappearance last year possibly due to the shipping process, I yesterday first lost a bidding contest (my bid second highest GBP 32 I think), but then rapidly changed my mind and grabbed a fixed price copy for just under USD 50 (+ shipping). There were at least 2 others for sale for around USD 65 or more.
Anyhow I obviously did want the English audio release also even if I only now rank this SW at place 33 on my Top 40 (a solid 6/10), but probably with potential for higher entertainment value after more watchings and especially with English audio.
And maybe Tequila Joe will add some value for the money (even if a ranking in my Top 40 would be a real bonus) ?
Now it is interesting to follow the DVD-package via its tracking number and some different search engines that give slightly different information. Last time when the A Hole Between The Eyes/ Tequila Joe DVD probably disappeared in mail to me in Spain there was no tracking number.
This time Ebay states its last known location Jan 28 was “JAMAICA NY INTERNATIONAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER”, and then per Jan 29 and 30 was in transit but nothing else (but probably to a for me unknown destination).
One search engine, parcelsapp.com states that its destination is Marocko, not specifying if that is the ultimate destination or (hopefully) not
Another Track24.net has a forecast of WHEN the package will reach a destination (not specifying which one) “26.02.2020 - 17.03.2020”, which is rather different from Ebays “own” estimation " Sunday, Feb 2, 2020 - Sunday, Mar 1, 2020" .
A basic comforting fact is, I assume, that Ebay claims that the package (meant for Spain) is sent via “USPS First Class Mail International / First Class Package International Service”, which at least sounds like it should normally arrive within a reasonable time.
After all this, I hope you enjoy the films.
Interesting! Mine are probably dropping down next week it seems. Very excited!
I was disappointed with Django the Bastard. I think I’m going to take a break from SW’s.
No such thing! Keep on searching for that perfect flick
Cool opening scene though, right??
