The Mad Max trilogy! On blu-ray! For £12! Superb.

I’ve been spending too much on movie purchases of late, but the sales have been making me a sucker:

Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure - $5 - always kinda surprised how much I like this film. Tim Burton’s first film and Danny Elfman’s first real film score, while still the lead singer of Oingo Boingo:

High Plains Drifter - $10:

Comes in this obnoxious slipcover box which is a “Best of 70s” series of releases. Luckily its just the slipcover which I always keep, but is getting tossed this time.

Some other titles released in this series I’d like to get, like The Jerk.

Just recently viewed The Jerk. Still holds up after all these years.

;D That’s a horrible box, right there.

Brilliant film.

For anyone interested, Best Buy has some few decent blu ray titles on sale for 3.99 (free US shipping on $25+ orders)

It appears that Amazon is matching prices on some of these also.

Western titles available:
Fistful of Dollars
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Pale Rider
The Wild Bunch
Westworld
Blazing Saddles

I originally wasn’t going to ever buy the MGM Leone blu rays, but I went ahead and grabbed FOD & GBU since they are only $4.

I also bought:
Drive
Machete
Kick Ass
Alien 3
The Terminator (Remastered)
Edward Scissorhands
National Lampoons European Vacation
Beetlejuice
Pulp Fiction
Fargo
Fight Club

Several more titles I wouldn’t mind getting but already a hefty purchase total. Couldn’t resist $4 on those, though

1990: Bronx Warriors
Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome
Deep Red
Warner Gangsters Collection Vol 1&2

New DVD:

Don’t know how much longer I want to get these for, though. By season 16, there are still one or two laugh-out-loud episodes peppered throughout the run, but the glory days are certainly well and truly behind them at this point. The part of me that loves The Simpsons of the nineties and early 00’s says, “STOP! You probably should’ve stopped two years ago!” But the completist in me says, “You’re round the other side of the moon, now! Might as well keep going!” Mind you, the completist in me has also caused me to buy such dogsh*t as Saw VII and Paranormal Activity 4. I really want to try to get away from that type of purchase.
