Maybe they finally upgraded them to blu-ray or 4K. But that’s just benefits of the doubts nd all that shit

Maybe … there are a few instances of upgrades, but I think most DVDs just get junked when the ‘Missus’ says it’s time for a clear out! … and bless her heart, because about 90% of my DVD and Blu Ray collection is thanks to such ‘Philistines’

Excellent pickups there mi amico :+1:

I missed out on the mediabook of The Great Kidnapping unfortunately, and the Raro US release I did get has shotty subtitle translation, so on the hunt it is. The film itself is excellent, but whoever translated the Italian track for Raro only did the bare minimum.

I have The Facts of Murder in the Radiance World Noir Vol. 1 set which I’m looking forward to checking out soon. Blazing Magnum is on my Wishlist to get. You can never go wrong with Hammer releases.

Caltiki the Immortal Monster has a cool premise, but I was disappointed when I watched it, granted it was one of Mario Bava’s first times at the director helm, but still.

Quite a haul!

Super nice haul there mi amico! :+1: I have both the Criterion Collection Blu Ray and an old Special Edition of Some Like It Hot. I decided to hold on to the DVD as there’s special features on it not on the CC Blu Ray, particularly an interview with Tony Curtis on how he and Jack Lemmon learned the art of Drag.

My dad is a huge Alistair Sim fan, he rates his Scrooge as the number one performance of the character. May have to track down Sim’s detective films for Father’s Day.

I too have the Eureka edition of Intolerance. D.W. Griffith is rightly a controversial figure, but you can’t deny the genius of this film. A must watch.

Your dad has good taste…The Alastair Sim version is a must-watch Christmas favourite every year.

Some new pick ups:

I have been wanting to see this for at least two years (?) but I was never close to any theater it was playing in. Finally got a pretty decent deal on the Blu-ray so it is on the watch list for the weekend.

@aldo and @Phil_H spoke highly of this one so I tracked down a copy. I hope to give this one a viewing as well this weekend.

Scarce pickings at the thrift stores this week though I was able to pick up a new South Korean film (seeing more and more of these in the thrift stores as of late), an American classic which I have seen numerous times but didn’t own for some reason, and one of my favorite TV series as a kid. It only lasted one season but I remember absolutely loving the “monster of the week” format. $2.00 for the lot so I have that going for me.

Kolchak made the trip worthwhile. The rest is gravy.
