I’m getting ready for my annual October ‘Halloween Horror-fest’, so just bought the following horror/animation Bds. :jack_o_lantern: :skull:

Some new additions:

Raro Video’s new release of Stelvio Massi’s Magnum Cop, a poliziottesco with Maurizio Merli and Joan Collins.

I was finally able to obtain a copy of Michele Soavi’s Stage Fright (co-written by George Eastman) at a reasonable price. I have been wanting to see this one for a while.

And, finally, Klaus Kinsky’s Nosferatu in Venice. Not a classic by any means but I found it in a used bookstore for $5.00 so, why not have it on hand for Halloween?

The director of ‘Nosferatu in Venice’, Augusto Caminito, directed Kinski in two movies at the very end of the actor’s career. But is better remembered for the co-screenwriting credits with Fernando Di Leo on two excellent spaghetti westerns - ‘I lunghi giorni della vendetta’ and ‘Ognuno per sé’ aka ‘Sam Cooper’s Gold’.

‘Deliverance’ (1972)

One of my favourites that I grew up with…an undisputed 1972 classic by Director, John Boorman, featuring exemplary performances from the entire cast and film crew… a beautiful, but disturbing experience, that could happen anytime and anywhere.

A film that examines what happens when you are taken out of your comfort zone, and find yourself literally out of your depth…

If you haven’t seen this yet, then please check it out. It’s a film that doesn’t age.

I’m a fan of the ‘Evil Dead’ films, so was chuffed to buy this today for 49p, in mint condition, on BD.
I’ve had a quick flick through the episodes, and it looks “Groovy”, as Ash would say.

If you like the previous Indiana Jones movies, like I do (yes, even Crystal Skulls isn´t that bad), bury it in your backyard or wherever so that archeologists in 100 years will find it, play it back and want to hang themselves.

… it’s that good? LOL

There are some films which are so bad in taste, judgement and execution, they make you angry … they rarely get past the 10 minute mark with me these days.

I do enjoy all the other Indiana Jones movies, even ‘Crystal Skull’, … though I think they’re a bit overrated.

I’ve not seen ‘Dial of Destiny’ yet…I’ll reserve judgement until I have.

I would postpone that watch for as long as possible. But, of course, people have different opinions, and that is okay.
