Starting to use my gift cards from family and friends to get some of the stuff I really want, and I started out with Chabrol’s inaugural introduction to Arrow Video and an upgrade of a movie a first saw in my sophomore year of high school.
Taking a dive into the Nunsploitation genre. I had a $100 gift card and this pairing used the bulk of it. The only one from the Severin set I most likely will not watch is Images in a Convent as I’ve read its basically XXX Porno (I’m not a prude by any means, but I prefer Softcore stuff). The Nun and the Devil set I picked up from the Amazon’s UK Global Store, which is a plus.
And lastly, ‘Badge of Fury’… I expected more from Jet Li. This so-called action-comedy film is, IMHO, a stinking pile of embarrassingly unfunny panda poo. Thank goodness I only paid pennies for it…
From a yard sale this morning. Nothing I haven’t seen but the fact I got all eight for $5.00 and, aside from Tequila Sunrise, they are all brand new, I couldn’t resist.
Those movies hold a special place in my heart for being the gateway to me ‘getting into’ film a few years ago. Do you have any favourites in the series?
and a couple of German releases of films I haven’t seen. (Yes, I know it is a complete travesty that I haven’t seen High Crime but this is literally my first opportunity. The Murder Clinic I’m not so embarrassed about.)
From IMDB: A recent French Blu Ray release of the film is missing the final 5 minutes of movie (including the murder of Cafiero and the entire shootout on the docks. It cuts right after Paul Costello’s character says “to the port!” to the shot of Nero standing by the ocean and the ending credits.
All excellent purchases there amico, I’m planning on getting the Giallo Essentials too, just waiting for the price to drop a little. High Crime is very well done with excellent performances from the cast. I have the Arrow Steelbook of Bava’s Blood and Black Lace, still need to sit down and watch it actually. Still debating on whether to check out Murder Clinic or not, I may eventually.
