Thanks man…I’ll try and give it a look when I get chance.

Awesome. Good to know they like the idea themselves. I guess that’s a lot better than nothing.

A new addition…

…and an upgrade.

You’ll get a kick out of Crimes of the Black Cat amico, I didn’t see the ending coming at all. The extras with Pastore’s daughter are very informative.

Definitely! I’ve actually seen it but got a chance to upgrade from DVD to a great deal on the Cauldron bluray so I jumped. And I’m definitely looking forward to the extras.

I’ve stuck Righting Wrongs and the Tiger Cage set on my Amazon wish list but I’m not pre-ordering anything else from 88 Films, even at the slim risk of missing out. They fanny around with their release dates constantly and that makes managing my disposable income a pain in the ballbags when there’s not much of it.

I can hardly blame you. Their releases are consistently fantastic but their management is piss poor. Their website is, quite frankly, archaic. I would happily order from them directly but they don’t let you pre-order until like a week before it bloody releases.

I’ve never had a problem ordering from them myself, and having an account with them allows me discounts I can use for the more expensive items. I would love to order from Amazon UK more, but the shipping cost is anywhere between 6 to 12 US Dollars and on a 30 to 40 plus dollar price tag for certain items leaves a little too big hole in my wallet.

It’s a similar situation for me with Amazon Germany too, there shipping rate in US Dollars nears 20, again way too high.

Watching ‘A Clockwork Orange’ recently, probably got me in the mood for this classic, bought for 50p.
Gene Kelly’s version of ‘Singin’ is unforgettable; and Malcolm McDowell’s is iconic…then again, so is the ‘Morecambe and Wise’ rendition…

Believe it or not, I have never seen a single episode of ‘Game of Thrones’; and so, for a mere £11.00, I picked up the first four series on bluray yesterday. Looking forward to delving into them…

Followed by another 50p purchase…

50p each on a market stall. Rio Bravo was brand new, still in its wrapper.

Great bargains on a couple of nice films. I was pleasantly surprised with Blow-Up.

I first saw Singin’ in the Rain my Senior Year of High School for the school’s inaugural film class and have been a fan of it ever since.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is a criminally underrated flick, one of Sean Connery’s finest hours as the primary lead.

Never had an interest in Game of Thrones, but I appreciate the world building George R.R. Martin created.

Game of thrones, I found a little slow to begin, but stay with it … by series 3 it really starts to kick arse!

Howl and The Wall were 99p each from the sale bins in HMV. The others were more considered purchases, although I’ve never seen Le Samuraï or In a Lonely Place. Or season 3 of Westworld.

Spoiler alert: you’re gonna love it.

During the Summer, the wife is up before the crack of dawn every Saturday morning scouring her yard sale sites for anything that might interest us. When I wake up, and if there is anything good, I have my cup of coffee and we hit the road. This morning, she shook me awake early and stuck the screen of her phone in front of my blurry eyes. There was a couple who live about 20 miles away and far out in the country who had posted pics of their sale they were setting up which included three eight foot tables that were covered in boxes filled in to the top with DVDs and Blu Rays. Captioned underneath was “$5.00 per bag full”. No time for coffee…we hit the road.

We ended up with 43 titles, including 14 Blu Rays, for $10.00. Some of the highlights are four Humphrey Bogart titles on Blu Ray, including the Criterion release of High Sierra, some John Wayne upgrades, almost every 70s disaster movie made (all the “Airports”, The Towering Inferno, and The Poseidon Adventure on Blu Ray) and a hodge podge of other titles. I also got a collection of the old “Thin Man” movies - a bit of nostalgia from my youth when the few channels we got were saturated with classic movies.

This haul might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I was pretty ecstatic.

That is a sweet haul there amico! There’s always room for Bogie in the collection I always say. I like the original Thin Man movie and the 1st and 3rd sequel the most, having the first film on DVD and the other two on Blu Ray. I believe that original boxset goes for crazy money nowadays, especially with having the bonus DVD there.

Cool! Not that I plan on selling.

Sounds great to me. And the bonus pleasure of a super cheap price. Pretty much heaven for me

That’s definitely how I feel about it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the nice, new “pretty” releases, but I equally love going through piles and piles of movies searching for that bargain gem.
