Another recent buy:
New blu-rays:
Upgrade to a newer restoration blu-ray (not getting rid of my old Mulholland Drive blu, though; comes with a nice booklet):
Just wanna advertise the great BluRay release calendar at the GCDb

New blu-ray:
My Mario Bava Arrow box set arrived today, too.
Just got the new 88 Films Paganini Horror blu-ray:
Nice! I pre-ordered this back in July I think, hopefully I’ll have it by the end of the month for my Horror a-thon on my blog.
I have upgraded my old DVD to the Region A blu-ray of The Mummy (1959). I will be ordering a lot more horror films next week.
Got the slightly new Blue Underground release of The New York Ripper and the new Severin release of Wax Mask
Quack quack.
First bunch of horror blu-rays for October:
Pre-ordered (out in December):
After a couple of delays to the release date this finally turned up today. It’s not a three-disc Oldboy set anymore (Arrow had some issues securing rights to some of the extras they intended to provide), but a four-disc Vengeance Trilogy set (the three films plus Old Days, a feature-length documentary on Oldboy). Haven’t looked at picture quality yet but the extras for all three films trump the extras in my old Palisades Tartan Vengeance Trilogy set so I’m happy enough.
The Godzilla Criterion set is being slowly reviewed and it’s a little bit disapointing since some of the movies actually look the same or worse than the stuff currently available.

It’s certainly not disappointing to me, I can’t wait to get hold of it. The majority of those Showa-era movies are either difficult to get hold of on blu-ray for region B, or unnecessarily expensive, or simply aren’t available at all. The only ones I’ve got already are the original Godzilla on DVD and King Kong vs Godzilla on blu-ray, so it’s a terrific purchase for me.
Couple more horror blus:
Update: I just discovered the UK blu of Dr. Terror’s House of Horrors has better picture quality, is loaded with extras (the region A I ordered has zero extras), is region free and I could’ve gotten it for $10 less.
New blu-rays:
Is the remake of ‘Suspiria’ worth a look ?
