Gave this one a shot tonight. Light spoilers ahead. As noted above, there’s a beautiful version of this on YouTube that has been posted.

Surprised to say the least with how good this film was. I thought the production value was far superior than most, with some beautiful scenes and equally as impressive action sequences too. Not forgetting some brilliant casting and performances from Ignazio Spalla (Mexico), Lucretia Love (Carmen), the man quickly becoming my favourite supporting star, Aldo Berti (Bill), and of course the main man himself Glenn Saxson (Gringo). Adored the recurring rooster parts too.

Very easy on the eye film… With that being said, there’s one thing I want to complain about…

I think criminal charges should be pressed to whoever didn’t expand on the opening few minutes of the story. It just seemed stupidly rushed. It felt like I was watching a film that lost a scene or two from the opening part. It just felt like I’d missed an entire 5 minute segment explaining some things.

If the opening sequence was detailed more thoroughly with some context behind how Mexico, Gingo, and the rest, were locked up and ā€œframedā€ instead of the Cris brothers, this probably would have entered my top 3 SW list. Probably top 4 come to think of it. I’m so frustrated by the opening 10 minutes.

Still going to give it an 8.5/10… But I wish I was giving it a 9 or 9.5 if it wasn’t for the lack of detail around the opening.

Even if it is a Morricone like main theme, it is very nice and could be heard more ! I also like that Vincenzo Musolino actor for his different style more like maffioso (?). He was good also in Don’t wait Django…Shoot ! - but not THAT good director of another SW Quintana - too simple but nice music in both by Felice Di Stefano

Oh I’m checking this out and the PQ is terrible. I want to see the nice TV print mentioned earlier.

Clicked wrong video, not bad PQ AT ALL!
