[Germany] Plaion Pictures (Koch Media - Koch Films)

Not even seven will get you free shipping

no? wtf… so you have to add one non-sale item? bandits

I don’t complain. This is the discount I have been waiting for so many thanks for the heads up!

At this price I was happy (well, more or less) to pay shipping. 34 euros for two is still a huge bargain compared to the regular price.

Interestingly, they say that some of these will be deleted from their shop soon. The way they phrased that info imho suggests they might be available from other retailers then. But that’s just my interpretation.

I doubt it. I am sure that when these are sold out, they’re sold out for good.

Why would they remove releases from the shop just because they become available elsewhere? It sounds like just ‘normal’ deletions to me.

“in Kürze werden wir einzelne Editionen nicht mehr im Shop anbieten”

“Soon we will stop offering some editions in the shop”

It’s just an awkward way to say that. Why not say “stock is running low, get them while you can”? Why adding “in the shop” to that info?

As I said, it was just interpretation.

Maybe they will reappear as standard editions in all shops. Maybe not.

It’s just Germans and their communication skills

So they will only sell the newest in the series in the fall and no longer the older ones?
Or the old ones only as a bundle?
Not really clear to me

why is everyone making stuff up? These things will sell out eventually, that’s all this means, everyone switch off their imaginations, don’t overinterpret a badly worded sentence

It’s called a sell-out. But everyone here should have the boxes, right? They need space for something new. Much more important is the question with which film they will continue in autumn!
All films are still available 15 minutes before midnight. It would be interesting to know the print run.

Does the plaion store ship to the US?

Unfortunately not @Gritz. I did ask them in one of my e-mails if they would ever consider shipping to the States and they said right now it wasn’t feasible from an economic standpoint, which is understandable - any business wants to be sure something makes even minimum profit.

Fear not though amigo, there’s options. DiabolikDVD gets copies of these releases from time to time, they’re a little on the expensive side in order to cover import costs, but they ship every item in a box and bubble wrap, so no worries of damage. Here’s some links to them.

The Tramplers (PLAION Blu-Ray Region B) – DiabolikDVD

Django Shoots First (Koch Germany Blu-Ray Region B) – DiabolikDVD

Death Rides a Horse (Koch Germany Blu-Ray Region B) – DiabolikDVD

California (Der Mann aus Virginia) (Koch Germany Blu-Ray Region B) – DiabolikDVD

And the owner is very friendly, so don’t feel funny about emailing and asking if more copies can be obtained

You can also go the trade route with friends from Germany, exchanging harder to import titles.

I’m rather shocked by the prices of these releases, even at 50% discount for 24hrs, it’s fairly steep for my meagre budget … I was interested in the ‘Holy Ghost’ movie, but I’ll play the waiting game for now …

Suitable music for me, aldo, pondering

@makesthemovie that’s awesome, I didn’t know Diabolik carried these. Good look! Yeah I was pretty sure Plaion didn’t do too the US. I want to get Django Shoots First as I only have the Umbrella release that only contains Italian audio.

Can anyone confirm the English audio is for the full length, same length as the Umbrella release all with English audio(not English audio mixed with Italian to cover a lack of English audio(if there even is any))?

15 euro for a release like that is too much? You must be kidding

Not at all … I think all these recent releases are over hyped and over priced - £70 for a boxset by Arrow, with a couple of useless titles, and after a year or so the price drops right down.

I’m not wishing to rain on anyone’s parade, as I appreciate how eager many are to get the latest releases … but personally I find I can wait. After spending £50 for the Sartana set, which I’ve only watched once, I realize the £25 version would have suited me much better.

Just sayin

Ah the Arrow box set never sold for £70. It went for £45-£50 bot I get your drift the money could be spent more wisely but them I guess we wouldn’t see many releases if noone bought them

I think €15 is a more than adequate price for a film in top notch quality on Blu-ray and with some bonus material. Much better than a 7.99 disc with an upscale of a cut version that’s partially not in sync and has no subs for the Italian audio, for example.

Psychologically, it sometimes feels a little worse to pay €60 for a four disc box set…

I reckon I’m spoiled, as I pick up so many titles 2nd hand for pennies, so lashing out ‘real’ dinero for special SW titles really hurts …
