Do spaghetti westerns and girlfriends go together?
Fair call. But the thing is she won’t be coming. She will be looking after the kids while I go and enjoy 3 days of Spaghetti heaven.
Like I said, God I love that woman.
Ahh, now I get it. Can I marry her?

I’m afraid you’ve missed that boat Bill. And she doesn’t even have a sister!

My girlfriends craziest statement to date: We watched FAFDM the other night and she said it was a comedy!!!

That’s brilliant.
Are you sure she doesn’t say these things just to wind you uP?

I’m beginning to wonder. She probably is as revenge for me saying her DVD collection of musicals was crap and that musicals are the lowest form of entertainment known to mankind (apart from attending star trek conventions and that sort of thing).

I started to watch OUATITW with my girl. now i wanna finish it. But she insist that afterwards we watch stuff that she wants. and she thinks its outrageous that i so far havent seen movies like:
titanic
dirty dancing
pretty woman(i allways say its about a whore, so there are better films about that)
and finally for my friend yodlaf:
bridget jones!!!

But i wont watch that. she said she would stop watching spaghettis with me, but i could care less.

I’d rather drown myself in a bath full of raw sewage than watch that lot!

Mine tried to cut the same deal. I wisely rejected

Ah this seems familiar to me as well. Though I think it’s a fair deal. The only thing is that we watch movies mostly at my house where she can pick from my collection

I guess I am lucky. I have never had a girlfriend that didn’t enjoy watching Spaghetti Westerns with me, to some degree. By that, I mean that some enjoyed them more than others.
I had a girlfriend from India who enjoyed them a great deal and even ranked some of them among her favorite films of all time (OUATITW, DUCK YOU SUCKER, GBU, SABATA, IF YOU MEET SARTANA–PRAY FOR YOUR DEATH, DJANGO, and THE MERCENARY…among others).
My ex-wife loved anything with Lee Van Cleef, Franco Nero, or Terence Hill.
My girlfriend Emiko was a big Macaroni Western buff!
And my current girl-friend, Mita, really enjoys them, as well.

I had one girlfriend that only liked Spaghetti Westerns if they had Clint Eastwood in them. But, she didn’t like Western movies at all…unless Clint had something to do with them.

So, I don’t think you can generalize about this topic. It is the same as trying to genrealize about race and creed.

Actually i’m not so sure if my girlfriend likes SW’s or not. I never tried to force it on her. And she never tried to impose “Legally Blonde”, and “Serendipity” on me either hahaha.

Funny how sometimes I find it hard to even impose SW’s on my male buddies too. Oh sure, they watch GBU and stuff like that but they are reluctant to see the lesser known ones. They prefer seeing something more mainstream.

All I know is that SW’s is generally a guys genre. Its catered towards a male audience and therefore the vast majority of the viewers are male. Not to say there aren’t exceptions. I’m sure there is a sizeable following among women as well. But for the most part SW’s are “movies for men”.

What I’m wondering is how would women react to the “so bad its good” type of SW’s? Maybe next time put on a Fidani movie for an April fools prank haha…

My girlfriend didn’t care much for His name was Pot. But that probably doesn’t indicate anything. Most sane people will not care for this movie. However, it did have her laughing a couple of times because it’s so incredibly bad and stupid.

I’ve never had a problem with my women enjoying a good spaghetti. My current choir-mistress enjoys spaghettis as much as I do! I think it demeaning to the fair sex to think that they dont understand them as much as us men.
In fact she’s here now and I’ll ask her for her favourites …
“So what films have you enjoyed the most” I ask …
So … In no particular order - here we are :-

The Gucci Bag and the Ugly
Today we Curl, Tomorrow we Dye
A Fistful of Dolce and Gabbana
Four of the Puckered Lips
Tampax Adios

and her favourite …

Ten Thousand Dollars for a Mascara

That’s pretty funny…although now i don’t think i’ll ever be able to look at the cover of Texas Adios without smirking…

If their were a few more women on this forum i think i’d be starting a thread about whether Spaghettis and “boyfriends” go together. And for me that would be a resounding NO! I’ve had to watch all sorts of crap over the years, so finally this past weekend, the other half says, OK let’s watch one of “your” films. So we did, and i’ve never heard so much bitching! From now on i’ll continue to enjoy them alone :stuck_out_tongue:

This week I was watching Texas Adios and my girlfriend joined me. She couldn’t stop ridiculing the story and plot outline. I hate to admit it, but with this movie I think she’s right. That didn’t stop me from enjoying the movie though. Baldi and Nero did a good job, so the movie’s excused as far as I’m concerned. When it comes to females, she’s sort of an expert on spaghetti westerns now I guess. She even knows the word to the Django theme song ;D

I still wish i never admmited watching this, let alone agreeing to watch it with her in the first place.

I can’t stand Hugh Grant for a start, annoying posh cunt.

Just the one? ;D

Harsh, but fair… altho anybody with MUNGO as a middle name can’t be too bad surely?

I just watched “the good the bad and the ugly” with my girlfriend and she said she liked it a lot ;D

It’s something to start with…
I just watched “the good the bad and the ugly” with my girlfriend and she said she liked it a lot ;D
Otherwise she wouldn’t be sane(like a couple of my female friends turned out to be after watching it).
