I’ve just watched this tonight after a high quality version was uploaded to the Grjngo YouTube channel.
7.5/10. Maybe 8/10 actually. I think it’s an 8…
Straight off the bat, I felt like this spaghetti western seemed much more ‘sophisticated’ than others I’ve seen before, and reminded me at times of the old classic American westerns pre 66’, which I’m a little more accustomed with.
A flaw would be the (at times) laughably bad dialogue and overall writing though, some of the dialogue just seemed so rushed and strangely written.
I can’t fully work out whether I loved or hated the incessantly over the top acting when it came to the multitude of death scenes, but I do think Ramon’s flamboyant style was beautiful to watch. Rather upsetting to see that he died at the young age of 49 - I may dig more into his filmography.
Talking of beautiful, however, Rosy Zichel (Rosy), probably takes my number one spot for most beautiful female in a spaghetti western. Does anybody know what happened to her after 1968?
