My German version runs about 115 min. Should be uncut.

Thought it was probably this but wanted to check. Cheers all.

Day of Anger, great move, great interactions and characterizations between Cleef and Gemma.

Also the music by Riz Ortolani is one of the best in Spagh westerns.

Riz ortolani is near to the greatness of Ennio Morricone(Baclav too is up there).

I’m going to check this out tomorrow, i don’t know why I haven’t noticed this earlier. Seems like I have to watch Sabata after that because i like Lee Van Cleef’s acting style very much, to me he is one of the top-3 actors of this genre.

EDIT: So i watched this yesterday and i was happily surprised.

Lee Van Cleef does once again great job playing the leading role, and i also liked Giuliano Gemma’s and Walter Rilla’s parts. At first the plot doesn’t seem to be very complicated or interesting, but luckily it got better and better as the film continued. The main idea reminds me of Face To Face. The ending was excellent, i was surprised how it the story turned out. Another great thing was the dialogue and there were many memorable one-liners also. The soundtrack also worked.

So all in all very good Spaghetti Western, i would give 4 or 4½ / 5 stars for this.

very good spaghetti with an original story and good acting, the only bad thing very low bodycount

I, for one, love this movie. The story progression is spectacular, Van Cleef and Gemma are both some of my favorite actors.
Since I can’t give this a 4 1/2 stars I’m gonna go with 5.

Me too.

Agreed!

Has he really done anything that great in the Western genre, apart from Day of Anger? I never really understood his popularity. (I know the Cannibal Holocaust and Mondo Cane tracks are amazing)

Day of Anger is his western score I remember the most, and do not remember alot of his other western scores like I do Morricone.

I even don’t remember this one … (nor any other of his scores)

And I have watched this film more than necessary.

I’m not that big fan of Day of anger score and can’t really remember his other sw scores ecxept Reason to Live… which is ok. But Cannibal Holocaust, that’s one of the best movie soundtracks ever made.

Ortolani had some decent scores but his score for Boot Hill gets my vote for being the worst SW score of all time.

Thought Carlo Rustichelli did the score to Boot Hill.

You all can listen to the score here:

I think it is amazing. I’m actually using the main theme as my ring-tone. :o

Boot Hill is Rustichelli (and damn good)

Yeah you are right, my mistake. Although Ortolani apparently contributed “Sotto la panca” to the Boot Hill score, according to imdb.

I always pondered what Scott Mary became of himself.

While sheriff of Clifton does sound like the most popular/practical choice, he did throw the pistol away…

What oh what became of Scott Mary?

He probably married that friendly prostitute.
