Cry, Onion! / Cipolla Colt (Enzo G. Castellari, 1975)

It’s a fool’s errand.

I’ve already endured the 2 Providence movies and the 2 Tricky Dicky movies - can’t see that this would be much worse.

I have it on the Koch Media 3 disc Nero blu ray box set, but can’t summon the courage…

It’s a kids movie, so it’s hokey, but there are fun moments. Definitely better than the Providence movies in my opinion. I do wish Nero had done his own English dub. The Jimmy Stewart voice is really odd.

Despite being a Nero fan I’ve never seen this one. I just made it through about 20 seconds of the trailer…

However, the oil field in the background of one shot looks quite unusual and cool for an SW.

If you’re a Nero fan, you should be at least somewhat entertained by his Terrence Hill imitation. It’s also directed by Casterelli, so it has interesting cinematography. But be prepared for a lot of cheese and an unbearable talking horse.

Yeah, interesting that Hill starts off imitating Nero in Preparati la Bara and later on Nero imitates Hill in this pile of junk.

Saw it in the cinema where it was a double-bill together with “5 men Amy” (the movie I was going for). Both movies were introduced by dutch director Maritn Koolhoven.

Not the best movie to introduce my son to the genre :joy:. He is still talking about eating whole unions and wonders what it was all about. Can’t blaim him as I more or less felt the same. They made some weird movies at the end of the western era in Italy…

Koolhoven mentioned the Hill / Nero shift as well and the “Stewart way” Nero was dubbed. Been looking for a copy but it is not really available.

Funny, I was actually thinking this might be a good one to start my kid off with when he’s a bit older (he’s only 1 so it’ll be awhile yet).
