Controversial movie debate thread

continuing discussion from Top 10 Directors regarding Polanski’s Fearless Vampire Killers

perhaps its because I’ve only just seen it for the first time, but I found no joy in those aspects…

The slapstick and parody I found dull, forced and completely not funny… did not even provoke a hint of silent laughter in me. The “new rules for the genre attitude” I suppose may have been lost on me, since I wasn’t viewing it with any genre rules in mind… and I don’t recall any strong horror, but I will say the eroticism was present

Actually, I did like the unhappy ending, but that was all really.

I would also add, that it felt like some really boring guy decided to make a child’s scary movie :wink: Don’t mean to be offensive with a statement like that, but it comes very close to how I experienced the film
