Diabolikdvd have it up for pre-order at $26.99
Nice!!
Also notice Amazon has dropped price to $36, and kind of expect price to drop more by the time it comes out
Iām shocked this is getting released this year⦠I actually thought weād be waiting many years for this release, seeing as it was coming from Grindhouse
Not my review: HANGING FOR DJANGOhttp://www.dvdbeaver.com/film4/blu-ray_reviews_60/hanging_for_django_blu-ray.htm at DVDBeaver (1080i with Dolby Digital audio tracks).
Looks (and I guess sounds ) like shit.
Iād say barely HD and I just know I will be annoyed by the filtering when watching it.
And what about that interlacing crap, is this from some sort of interlaced 25fps PAL master or what? Thereās no reason to be interlaced if the source was film.
Yeah it doesnāt look much better than my SPO dvd.
DVD Beaver review of the Blu-ray of Image Entertainmentās release of My Name is Nobody: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/dvdcompare/nobody.htm
Thanks JW. If the screens are any indication, the improvement from all previously released DVDs are quite substantial. You can even see Henry Fondaās nose hairs! Iāll be picking this up for sure.
Is āNobodyā better than the French Blu. I know the French Blu has forced subs but I can live with that.
I uploaded a a couple of screenshots for comparison here My Name Is Nobody French vs USA Blu-Ray | A Fistful of DVDs
As far as I can remember the German & Italian discs look worse. Maybe. I would be happy with the French disc. But now Iām not sure if it is sharper because it is in fact better or if it has just been artificially sharpened, and maybe got rid of some of the grain(?), not that it still isnāt grainy.
Damn, the french blu looks better. But it may be due to screenshot capturing software etc⦠or like you said, artificial sharpening, but it definitely looks better at first glance.
blu-ray.com has a review My Name is Nobody Blu-Ray from Image Ent. It isnāt a very positive one.
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/My-Name-Is-Nobody-Blu-ray/48179/#Review
Looks like their primary complaint is with imperfections in the source print/negative, and that digital restoration methods werenāt applied. Personally, this isnāt much of a problem for me so long as the picture quality is up to par with blu ray standards. Depending on just how bad the damage is, Iād probably prefer the imperfections be left as is rather than digitally corrected.
The major issue, however, is the source material, which is battered and scratched, with numerous instances of vertical and horizontal lines, streaks, splotches and speckles.
The source for the French Blu ray must be in better shape because it looks alot better than the Image disc, although the Image disc is still a monumental improvement over any of the SD releases.
I concur. A little print damage has never really bothered me and it canāt be that excessive(no more so than the Image standard Def release). All in all this review does not sound that badā¦it claims the image is strong for the most part and if the print damage isnāt too too bad(which I have a feeling it isnāt) that sounds good to me.
I have the German Blu Ray and I am extremely happy with it. Ive never seen a review so I donāt know what the general consensus is about that release, to me it seemed very good.
A review of Hanging for Django, and not a flattering one.

It seems the rights have changed there, and some will be released on Blu for the first time.
Iām eager to see which version of OuTW it will be. The listed runtime indicates that it is not the 178 min version.
