Honestly though, the master is from 2019? Thanks for nothing, Paramount for leaving us hanging for three years. Another reason why it needs amazing labels like Kino to give their catalog the respect in needs because it most fucking certainly doesnt get the respect from their own

Edit: now let’s hope they have a copy of the uncut long version of approx 130min not Paramounts old 120-something minutes

Ah, man, Kino is always region locked though, which sucks. And I would get a multi region player but there’s just not enough of a reason to justify doing so when everything else I’ve got will already play on what I have.

well, I have to say nowadays that is mostly true, the global situation has vastly improved, but considering one of these can be had for quite a small price tag, it may still be worth it in the long run

I’ll maybe have to consider it.

Koch Films has placed a very obvious hint about title two on their social media channel. Obvious if you consider the German title

California?

Whenever I see a German title I think I haven’t seen it yet

Is this gonna be part of the same series as the Hellbenders with the square box?

Do you have a link? I’ve had a look on their Facebook pages but couldn’t see anything related to a spaghetti western.

it is the third post down on their FB page

Much obliged. Surely it is California/Der Mann aus Virginia? :crossed_fingers:

It truly does depend on interest and taste. I’m in the US so a Region Free player was a must for me cause I felt like so many more companies in the UK, Germany, France, Japan, etc, cared much more about the cult film and Italian genre film fans, and were releasing stuff that would only receive poor quality DVD releases or cheapo blue tinted recordable discs in the States.

Horror fans in Europe I know tend to go for All Region players cause the 70’s and 80’s ones especially are released completely uncut in the States.

The choice is totally up to you in the end, but I will recommend never buying one that says ā€œrefurbishedā€ in the description, that usually means it was an amateur job, and the player won’t last long as the integrity of the mechanics is compromised. Go with companies like Bombay Electronics and 220-Electronics that are pros.

I’ll be in a pickle if Koch’s next release in the new series is California. I liked the film for the most part when I saw it for the last Spagvember Fest, but I’m unsure if I wanna upgrade to Blu Ray. If anyone can give me postives to upgrade, please do.

yeah that’s what I mean, I’m in the UK so everything I’ve got works fine, its only a Kino Blu-Ray release of Ace High that would be an issue (got the DVD though so I’m not too fussed any way). I don’t blame you for getting one in the US, totally worth it.

I was also thinking about a region free blu ray player… however they do get quite expensive if you want also be able to play 4K movies…

I find it quite weird I would have to buy a region free blu ray player to be able to play (in my case) region A locked blu rays while 4K blu rays are apparently region free… What’s the point of locking regular blu rays while making 4k blu rays region free?

:+1: I hear you, amigo. It’s irritating. I’ve got the Kino Lorber 4k UHD The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, complete with a stack of extras on a region A locked blu that I’m never going to see.

Haha, me too. And yesterday I received Kino’s 4K versions of AFOD and FAFDM… also stuck with extra’s I cant’ see…

or buy a cheap used Region A locked bluray player as a backup for such cases
