Well, I decided it’s time to update my alternative top 20, especially since I rediscovered my love for Texas Adiós, so here’s the new list:

10,000 Dollars for a Massacre
Vengeance
El Puro
Taste of Killing
Vengeance is Mine
Death Sentence
Bandidos
Texas Adiós
Long Days of Vengeance
God Forgives… I Don’t
Sartana Does Not Forgive
I Am Sartana… Pray for Your Death
Massacre Time
Kill Them All and Come Back Alone
Those Dirty Dogs
The Deserter
Shoot Gringo… Shoot!
Fort Yuma Gold
Full House for the Devil
I Want Him Dead

I am a bit irritated that Cowards Don’t Pray didn’t make the list again. It’s difficult when you have equal favourites. I have taken out A Man Called Blade, Sonny and Jed and Death Walks in Laredo simply because I find myself watching them less than Texas Adiós and Fort Yuma Gold and that says something about my preferences. Shoot Gringo… Shoot is a new favourite and deserves a place.

I see A Genius Two Partners and a Dupe is long gone aswell.

Yeah, it’s out but I still really like that film.

But this is in the site’s top 20.

They’re all first rate Spags … and probably all the more enjoyable for not being seen as often as the usual ‘Top 20’ titles.

"Shoot Gringo … Shoot!" is due for another airing at my place.

So just to confirm changes…

Out - Cowards Don’t Pray…Man Called Blade…Sonny & Jed…and Death Walks in Laredo

In - Shoot Gringo shoot, Texas Adios, Fort Yuma Gold and what else?

No, just those three for Man Called Blade, Sonny and Jed and Death Walks in Laredo. My comment regarding Cowards Don’t Pray was just about how frustrating it is when I can’t fit them all in. I have too many equal favourites and that makes the alternative top 20 very difficult.

OK cool. Thanks.
I’ll update that now.

I feel the same, the alt. top 20 is very hard to be satisfied with. I like almost all the lists in this thread. Someone suggested (I think it might have been Morgan) that we should have an Hardcore Spags top 20 wich I believe is a good idea. I would really like to see how other fans would rate more obscure and rare spags and see how they stand to each other.

It is difficult and that’s one reason why I don’t weight the selections within anyone’s list. It is 1 point per vote. This makes the overall list very close and no runaways like on the general Top 20 but I think it’s the right way to do it as when you are getting down to your 25th or 30th favourite it becomes pretty arbitrary to attribute a definite place above or below some others.

I could always extend it to be an Alternative Top 30 or 40 but then folk will probably just say it’s hard to choose that number too. Drawing a line is always tough when you are choosing stuff you really like a lot of.

I’m open to suggestions though if enough people think it’s a good idea.

Never understood why people put their Alternative Top 20 in a strict order.

Exactly. I think it’s fine the way you’re doing it.

Because they want to. :+1:

I’d note I’ve not seen El Puro … but it sounds like a helluva movie.

Hey there, Thomas! Cemetery Without Crosses is in the official SWDB Top 20, so can’t be included in an alternative top 20 list. Pick a substitution and you’re all set. :+1:

I think people keep getting confused about what’s the alternative list is all about. You can (and should) have same films in your top20 list and alternative list as long as they’re not included in our “official top20”. For example, Thomas you have Blindman and Minute to Pray high on your top20 list but since both of these films aren’t included in the official top20 these should be included also on your alternative list.
