I got it a while ago when you first mentioned it, haven’t got around to watching it yet
[b]The Punisher /b
After watching Battle of the Damned, I decided to check out this earlier Dolph Lundgren action flic I had never seen, and I really liked it. I’m not sure which Punisher film I like better, this one or the newer War Zone. Both have similarities in being super violent, but in a way still almost like a kid’s movie, retaining some of the comic book like elements and silly laughs. Despite some cheesier stuff, both are still full of violent action, and plenty of visual style.
Ah the 1989 one, for me… the film doesn’t seem to slow down and Dolph is perfect in the role… his line delivery is great with his deep voice
I thought War Zone was alright, I didn’t really like the villians, especially the guy who played Jigsaw, his fake American accent was a bit distracting… but definitely a big improvement over the 2004 version, imo

I concur.
War Zone is far from being a really great film, but its very good for a no braining fix of ultra violent comic book styled action.
Watched Darkman III Die Darkman Die - like the above, decent enough for some comicy action, but maybe I was expecting too much as it was a little boring for me. The plot is pretty silly when Darkman wants to make his enemy’s family his own, and these bad guys are the epitome of the non-sharp-shooter kind - can’t even hit a guy in a narrow underground tunnel with a rocket launcher I was also kinda tired and not in the best of moods, so maybe it’ll be a better watch some time down the line. Also got Darkman II but have not watched it yet.
Ah yeah, I didn’t have high expectations for Darkman 3, being straight to video and having such a low score… I was impressed that it didn’t feel like a straight to video movie, and Jeff Farhey was badass, just love his performance…
Darkman 2 is pretty much an extension of the 3rd movie or visa versa, they use some of the same footage, great villain again though…
Overall I prefer the first one, probably Sam Raimi’s best film, imo.
Samuel L Jackson stars in a 2014 live-action adaptation of the cult anime, Kite:
(short intro by Samuel L. where he says he’s been super into Kite for a long time)
I’ve liked the original anime since I was about 16, it being one of the first animated films I saw with really excellent action sequences. Was at-first excited to see this but after watching the trailer I’m not so sure… looks possibly pretty-shabby, but still looking forward to seeing it. There’s also a second anime but it isn’t nearly as good.
