Review is indeed great, but last two pictures are the same

No, that’s the game: look for the five small differences
(Never seen in magazines MPL ?)

Whoopsie… my bad. I fixed it. Thanks!

A bit too soon, I spotted only four differences …

Nice review, Len
I’ll never call it a genuine, 100 % Sartana again
Just an entertaining flick

You must be quicker. Slow gunslinger is a dead gunslinger :P

Sorry for the long time between new stuff, I was out of town for the week. To make up for it, there’s two:

Scherp’s Blindman review:

Also, my review of Dig Your Grave, Friend, Sabata’s CO\oming (which appeared on the SWDB a few weeks ago):

Haven’t seen it yet, but seems promising
Sergei Kowalski’s nephew goes Yogi

Don’t understand why Saxon wasn’t more often in spaghetti westerns, he had/has the right face for it
I remember only another Castellari movie with him in it, I came, I saw, I shot
Where there any more?

Actually I liked Dances with Wolves

Got a review of Yankee for you all. Koch did an extraordinary job on this one, didn’t they?

Anothr good review. I would like to cmment on the scene in the movie which offends everybody. I maybe didn’t care as much cause I’m just a dumb kid but I think that Baldi was trying to show horror in that scene not try to come off as a misogynist. Don’t know if thats how you spell it but… I believe he was just trying to show how evil and disgusting the character of Domingo was. Sure it was a bit much but I believe it did have some purpose.

I tend to agree. And we’ve seen plenty of SW’s and American westerns where large numbers of Mexicans or Indians are shot down for ā€˜like rabbits’ and no one has found it offensive. This time its women and people are shocked! I suppose its nice to know that chivalry still exists!

Offends everybody?? Really? I’ve only ever noticed a small minority who are offended. About 3 or 4 people. Don’t think I know of anyone who has stated they are shocked by this scene. I thought it all got a bit unnecessary. Simply shooting 'em would have done. No need for the rape. It did not offend or shock me though.

I don’t shock or offend easily. I don’t know if I was out and out offended by the scene, but I certainly found it unnecessary and overdone. At the very least it changed the way I was feeling about the film a little bit. Maybe that was his point. Scherp had a similar response in his review of it:

Len’s got a great review of The Great Silence…

http://fistfulofpasta.com/index.php?go=reviews/greatsilencelen

I knew the Main theme sounded familiar, but couldn’t lay my finger on it

You’re right Len, it’s this L’Amour est Bleu/Love is Blue, written in '67
Morricone must have picked it up listening to the radio
And of course he did miracles with a basically rather mundane piece of music

This is an orchestral version of it:

And this is Morricone’s Great Silence theme:

A beautiful chanson, n’est-ce pas?

A wish I knew French :stuck_out_tongue:
