Any news on Wild East’s “Nest of Vipers / Tails You Lose” double feature? It was supposed to come out this last Tuesday (December 11th) yet I haven’t got an email that it shipped off or has been delayed

Hey, amigos. Anybody get their copy of Nests Of Vipers/Tails You Lose yet? I received mine today. I’m going to try and watch it this weekend if possible and post my thoughts on the DVD.

It is an Xmas miracle! Glad you got it, Yodlaf . I glanced at both films just to check out the PQ, and they both look fantastic! A huge improvement over the Craig Hill double bill. I’ll hopefully get a chance to finally sit down and watch the films after Xmas.
What is the correct aspect ratio of THE TRAMPLERS and is that the aspect ratio on the Wild East disc?

With so little interest from spaghetti western fans it should stay in print for a long time.
My German copy is in 1,66:1, and despite the Bruckner book claiming that it is a CinemaScope picture I assume that this is the correct Aspect ratio. Just like the other Albert Band produced SWs.
The WE is then probably in 1,85:1
“Schermo panoramico gigante” should be equivalent to 1,85:1.
Jonathan btw was the Cave scene of GBU ever released on DVd or Blu in Italy? And what do you know about that longer beating scene which is as bonus on the MGM DVD?
Tramplers was released in Italy last summer in 1.85:1 (I haven’t checked to see if it is actually that…), I suspect WE will just use that transfer.
Yes it is, I’ve checked. 
The scene was never released on DVD in Italy but according to some it was included in the re-release of the early Eighties which I saw at the cinema: frankly after all these years - and most importantly sights of the movie - I’m not able to confirm with certainty its presence.
Same goes for Tuco beating (as you know there are three known versions of that sequence and MGM and MHE Blu-rays have a slightly different editing): I remembered the scene as more intense compared with the current version, but in all honesty I’m not sure.
What is absolutely certain however is that in those days I saw at the cinema a longer version of John Carpenter’s The Thing (including more prolonged, almost unbearable appearances of the creature: in all probability the mysterious 127 minutes cut) which unexplainably not only in Italy no one seems to remember.
Always thought a T.V screening of John Carpenters The Thing was more graphic than the current disc versions, but the T.V screening was that long ago which I am relating to…it may be just in my head.
According to De Fornari it was not restored for the 80s re-release. And was never part of any released version. The MGM guys also claim that it was never released before. And that the Tuco Beating scene was also never released before. The last one is anyway in a not so good condition.

Yes, I know. The German theatrical version is the same as the Italian one. While the English master is slightly different towards the end. There are a few alternative shots, but the runtime is probably the same.

It is well-known that - despite the great majority of sources and Anica data concerning film length state 182 and 177 minutes respectively - officially the 174m Italian Blu-ray coincides with the original theatrical version, but to my way of thinking it’s not sure that the complete premiere version was never shown in movie theaters.
Indemonstrable but indisputable reality since I remember perfectly a very disturbing scene.
