Which type of Spaghetti Western intros do you prefer?

There is already a thread for our favorite Spagh intros, but generally speaking, which type is your favorite? Mine are the ones with Spagh art and I’d say In a Colt’s Shadow is my favorite. I hate the ones with stills/clips from the film because they’re usually spoilers.

  • Spaghetti Western art (e.g. Dollars Trilogy intros by Iginio Lardani)
  • Stills/clips from the film
  • Protagonist riding in Almeria Desert
  • Some event of the film happening in the background while the credits are playing
  • Blank background (e.g. black background with red text)

For me, nothing beats seeing a figure like Robert Woods riding against a beautiful backdrop, accompanied by a fitting, peaceful soundtrack and subtle credits rolling over the top.

My favourites are the art ones that also feature rotoscoping.

GBU opening with the cannon and Faccia a Faccia with the coloring comes to my mind

I really like those pop art style rotoscope animations. But then again I wouldn’t like that kind of style in film like Once Upon a Time in the West for example.
