Any suggestions where to find digital copies of film OSTs? Alternatively, I would buy on CD if someone can point me to a source.
I’m looking for the soundtracks of La Resa dei Conti and Death rides a horse.
No streaming platform suggestions please, as I want to actually own a copy, not rent limited temporary access.
I’m happy to pay for a legal download if this is offered anywhere.
It not so much about “finding” them per se, isn’t it? I mean these are all listed on Amazon, so they can be found, the issue is more their out of print nature and the crazy prices they are listed for, unfortunately…
I just found “Death rides a horse” on Amazon Music. They sell a digital copy of the full soundtrack for €6,99. Will be buying that. Unfortunately, it’s only in mp3 (would’ve preferred FLAC or some other lossless format), but given that “La Resa dei Conti” OST is no longer even listed as a dead item, I guess you take what you can get. (At least you can copy it freely without having to have the Amazon App on every device you want to listen to the copy you already paid for).
Those are pure streaming platforms, unfortunately. You pay a fee to listen online, but they can change their offerings at any time, and you can’t store a copy. They have the big ones that are well distributed (like the Leone film soundtracks or other major works of Morricone), but not these rare ones.
I don’t buy much music either, which is why I started the thread (thought maybe someone knows some obscure site that offers what I’m looking for).
I guess it would probably be a good idea to look for CDs at 2nd hand shops.
Would prefer digital though, as I don’t even own an optical drive anymore, I got rid of my last one many years ago.
I’m strongly considering buying an external blu-ray drive though, as some of these Spaghetti Westerns require it to become accessible in acceptable quality.
It’s my go to music streaming site. It’s a bit more expensive for subscription but worth it to me. High quality files and more money goes to artists/labels. It’s also not owned by some meglomaniac tech billionaire either as far as I can tell.
I usually play vinyl and prefer that but when I’m working or somewhere away from a physical music set up (like when I’m working) I use Qobuz. Sounds great and makes me feel better about where my money is going.
