What Film Are You Watching Tonight?

My kind of old horror movies on double features. I remember Hammer Horror double features on ITV on a Friday. I miss those.

In case you didn’t know ITV is a terrestrial channel in the UK.

The films shown on Joe Bob’s Shudder streams is usually exploitation stuff. In the old days he was limited to whatever the network (TNT) had rights to. But Shudder is more focused on the exploitation stuff, not so much the classics, which is of course what Joe Bob made his career as a writer around. Of course a lot of the old stuff from his TNT shows were the same kind of stuff.

I do exploitation movies, I did have a Bad Taste section of films. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Arrow(drome) label has varied selection of titles. I mainly own old Roger Corman and AIP stuff now. There are certain types of exploitation flicks I just can’t watch.

Terror Firmer (1999) - one of Troma’s few actually great films. Or at least that’s what I thought the last time I had watched it back in the early 2000s. Let’s see if it holds up.

I just put on No Room to Die starring Anthony Steffen.

Steffen rules!

William Berger was also good in it. His over-the-top-ness contrasts good with stiff Steffen.

I like the sound of that. Berger always had a goofy quality with his grin. But I liked him in nearly everything I have seen him in. His wise guy persona like in SARTANA IN THE VALLEY OF Death contrasts well with a tender performance in Keoma. I want a copy of No Room to Die.

Watched it last year for the first time and was pleasantly surprised - it’s a good one.

Are there any other Steffen movies you like?

I was never his biggest fan - but I don’t mind his stiffness so much now. I have a feeling of Deja vu … didn’t we discuss this recently or is it my cabin fever again !? LOL

I reckon if you’re a Steffen fan, you’ll enjoy the majority of his movies - I’ll return your question and ask which you don’t like so much ?

I probably have asked you in the past, it must be MY cabin fever showing too!
Anyway I am not keen on ARIZONA COLT RETURNS and GARRINGO. They are the first ones that come to mind. No reason other than I found them dull. The most interesting character in GARRINGO was Peter Lee Lawrence as Johnny. I think that’s his character name.

Yeah, they’re both pretty so-so … can’t take Anthony as Arizona Colt, after Giuliano Gemma doing such a great job in the original.

… and Garringo was instantly forgettable … not bad, just nothing special.

I agree.
What did you think of Ring Face of Vengeance? I have never seen it but it would be hard imagining anyone else playing Ringo.

There is no Ringo (not in the sense that it’s the same character ) … the title is just a marketing ploy.

It’s a good movie and available on You Tube

I see. Very lax copyright (if there was any) back then. Thanks for the info Aldo! :+1:

Garringo is one of Steffen’s best (6/10), Arizona Colt Returns one of his worst (1/10)

They are fair marks Stanton, especially for ARIZONA COLT RETURNS!
